Hi there, I just watched a vid about famous dogfights between the Mirage III and the Mig 17. What a great era.

Any tips on which sim will give me the best flying fighting experience ?

I'm thinking Strike fighters, but I wonder if there is another one I missed.

Any tips welcome.

I only know about Generation 2 of Thirdwire series (Strike Fighters 2) MiG-17 needs a little modding to make it flyable and there is a
Mirage III as 3rd party downloads there is also official download of the Mirage III that is payware.

Thanks Fenix. Hows the flight model in SF2? Its a bit of money, and then the pay ware. Also how about the campaign in SF2?

I'll jump on it if there is nothing else I think.

I think Strikefighters 2 series is worth the money but that depends what you expect from it it is not as advanced as Flanker or Falcon 4 or Lomac.

Thirdwire call the SF series a "lite sim" If you think it is a lot of money you don't need to buy the whole series.
The payware is between $2.99 & $9.99. I'm happy with the campaign system and the Flightmodels. But I don't want to read a chapter in the manual just to know how to Take Off. I want to get in the game as soon as possible. Another good thing with the StrikeFighters 2 series is the vast amount of 3:rd party mods most of them freeware.

I can recommend to visit the Thirdwire thread here and on combatace.com both for news and others opinions about Strikefighters 2 series

Wings over Israel has Mirage IIIC that you can fly against MiG-17, but not the other way around since we can only fly Israeli planes. I'm not exactly happy about flight model in SF/Wings Over series, though. The jets seem to always run out of energy turning at 300 knots and 4-6G. Makes it even harder to dogfight than Falcon4 or Flamming Cliffs for that reason. For oldschool ground attack missions, though, they're still one of the bests IMHO.
