heya all,
FMS recently released a 1400mm wingspan Bf109f, i bought one and assembled it the other day.
they really have done a fantastic job designing it, short of building one from scratch it is
i would think the most scale looking 109 out there. i assembled mine the other day, and maidened
it yesterday, great flyer, loves to ground loop with it's narrow track undercarrage unless you
really keep an eye on it.

Did I see a gear not completely retracting? If you have a gear servo and it's binding because the gear is getting tweaked on the take off you could end up killing your flight batteries right quick (happened to me), sometimes you have to make the opening a little wider to accommodate that possibility. But it is a very nice model.

cheers guys,
the retracts are servoless with an over current cutout, what i have found is that they retract just fine if i
raise them straight after takeoff, or before i get too much speed. i figure it must be airflow under the wing
creating an air pocket or such which in turn stalls out the retract unit and shuts it down on overcurrent.
you will notice that on about the third circuit i throttled back, and dropped the flaps to slow her up further,
i then retracted the gear and they both went all the way home. i only have a few flights on her so am still
discovering any idiosyncrasys and this seems to be one of them. doesn't matter, looks far cooler when you raise
the gear just after you lift off anyhow wink

Cheers

Wow. What does a model like that cost? I love this new generation of quick to assemble yet goodlooking planes. And flaps + retractable gear... cool.

It was about $250US +shipping, requiring your your own batteries in my case 4s3300 lipo's and a 6 channel recieved. About 3-4 hrs assembly time and your airborne! Makes it harder and harder to justify rolling out a set of plans and starting from scratch! I am going to repaint it though, a nice north African scheme.

That is relatively inexpensive. I was expecting a much higher price.
