I don't agree with this removal because this was realistic and IMO will make the sim more challenging as it is expected on such as sim!

BTW, does the removal of this feature also affects the RAF campaign? If yes, one more reason why I don't agree with this feature since it will make the RAF much more 'unrealistically' hard.

I wouldn't worry. I am also against changes that alter the play balance where it is not needed. You won't see an impact on the RAF campaign because to use escorts properly needs player intervention and the LW AI doesn't replicate this.

But the Luftwaffe campaign was very hard for players to even win, maybe too hard, especially when escorts almost NEVER joined up with bombers to target.

Well, I feel more relieved now! Thanks for the heads up smile

These multiplayer skills are in demand and finding a volunteer is very difficult as a good multiplayer programmer can earn money in today's tight economy.

It's a petty that we won't see any Multiplayer improvements in the next BoBII version since multiplayer is inded BoBII's "Achilles heel" (the only, IMO)

Thanks for the reply, Buddye

Excellent work! Personally I can't wait for this one. Playing as the LW has always been plagued with the errant escorts problem; only the other day my 60+ bomber force passed its equally massive 100+ fighter escort going in the opposite direction back to France just as I was crossing the Sussex coast! The escort was supposed to be attached and never showed at the rendezvous point! Needless to say my bombers were bounced by the dreaded RAF and scattered. They had probably spent the morning drinking tea and enjoying the sunshine waiting for my escort fighters to buzz aimlessly around the South Coast....

Well, I personally rate the real Luftwaffe's chance at success (in the sense of making the Channel safe for the Kriegsmarine) at about 1/10 . . .

The sim counts success for the LW as being the neutralization of the
threat from RAF fighter command (and assumes that that follows on to
apply to bomber command and the fleet air arm). It doesn't consider
how things will fare afterward. A LW victory only means the RAF can't
be counted as the reason not to invade. Whether the invasion would then
actually take place is not addressed.
