Hmm, it says $64.99 on the home page. Where can I get it for $49.99?

Excellent review. I would just like to add:
Thermals (can be made visual) + ridge lift.
Aircraft wings flex when strained, can also break off.
And there are some missions (flying through checkpoints). While most are very basic, there are some nice ones too (low altitude jet flight, glider flight to the Matterhorn using ridge lift).
The very short load up time sets it apart from other flight sim software.

I was in search of civil aviation software with well simulated flight physics, not dumbed down. But the complexity and bulkiness of the usual flight-sims put me off. Aerofly FSs focus on the core elements fits me perfectly. Looks damn amazing on my aged hardware.
I find it very relaxing, especially in a glider.

Great review Troll, hope they continue to add features toward a full civil air simulator.

I finally received my copy after about 2 weeks.
The graphics are really good as seems the flight model.
I frequently skydive from various airports in Switzerland and it's amazing to be able to identify well familiar features and landscapes in this simulator.

Just a few things that were a little disappointing (no showstoppers):
- the scenery is really old, about 15 years. The A1 motorway (Berne-Payerne part) looks like in the last stages of being finished, so that puts the aerial photography around 1997. The rest of the A1, from Payerne via Yverdon to Lausanne is not even started (it was completed in 2001). Some areas in Valais near Torgon/Porte du Soleil and parts of Zurich also show the age of the source material.

- Biel-Kappelen (LSZP) is completely missing

- Locarno (LSZL) in reality has 3 runways: 26R/08L, 26C/08C and 26L/08R. Only the concrete runway 26R/08L is modeled. If you try to land on the grass runways, even though visible and identifiable, a few feet off the ground the terrain suddenly appears really bumpy and you'll crash. In reality, the whole area is completely flat and you could land just anywhere, never mind the markings in the grass. Also, in comparison to other airports, not a single building, not a single tree or anything is modeled at LSZL. Only the concrete runway, which is a bit disappointing. There is quite some activity, both military and civilian, and it's one of the bigger cantonal airports.

Yes. Fully modelled smile

If you are old enough to remember Flight Unlimited, you'll love it.

IMHO, I would say the Flight Unlimited was much better. Aerofly FS is to me just an eyecandy toy without joy. Something like Google Earth simulator flown inside a big RC model. I am quite disappointed and regret my 50 bucks thrown away.

I'll give 40 bucks shipped for it! :-D

I'm trying to find a US retailer....no luck yet

There may not be a traditional online retailer in the US yet, but it is available on the Mac App Store for $46.99

Also:

The reviewer lists PC-based specs (Win 7), but the screenshots were all from a Mac. (Mac OSX buttons was the give-away) So was the review actually done on a PC or a Mac?
