http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHc04iRFFwAhttp://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=29967Quote from the developers "We have also made other changes since the version in which the video was made. The damage model for the vehicles was improved. Destroyed ground objects have inertia and continue moving after death. Component damage system (tracks, crew, gunners etc) has also been improved. Unfortunately due to yesterday being an official holiday we simply had no time to make additional footage and splice it into the video."

So this is from CLoD? Is this just the developers playing around, or are they seriously considering including a land war element within the Storm of War series?

So this is from CLoD? Is this just the developers playing around, or are they seriously considering including a land war element within the Storm of War series? Yes, this is from IL-2 Cliffs of Dover, formally the Storm of War. Oleg hinted along ago that their new game engine would allow for control of vehicles, armor, and ships etc. I figured that the developers would produce a combined forces sim when all the Air Theaters were completed, but it appears they have some programmers working on driveable Vehicles and Tanks now, and will probably add some content as each new Theater is released instead of waiting. I can definitely see some tank action in the first Sequel, which is unannounced but appears to be on the Eastern Front, and even more ground vehicle action in the following sequel which could be the Med Theater. The developer is experiencing performance issues with the current game engine, but is developing a patch to address this situation, which could come out in the coming weeks. They also have plans to release an SDK, and Map making tools to community modders and third parties, that may attract people who currently do maps and aircraft for the FSX series. I can definitely see the IL-2 maps eventually being used by civilian aircraft, and others using the IL-2 maps for operations like D-Day on the coast of Normandy where you will see Air, Land, and Sea type operations. This is all going to take time, but it appears the developers are in this for the long haul, if they can just get the latest performance/graphic patch working properly.

A "combined forces sim" is a really nice idea, but i think they should make the game playable before diverting resources to new aspects pf the game. CLoD currently, for me, is a random skirmish generator (and only ove the channel, to keep FPS high). I'm lucky my VGA "asploded", so i only look at news once in a month or two, and there none, the patch is being postponed every week, but really looks this time it gonna be released this week. Anyway, i'll stick to il-2 sturmovik and wait until a dynamic campaign is released for CLoD (maybe wait forever)... too few people online.

It would appear to many people that they diverted resources or changed the priority from a flight sim, but this was never the case. They've always had people working on the ground aspects of the flight sim, those people weren't diverted from working on flight sim aspects.

That video looks like a different version of Aces High in all honesty. Yes I would say that the graphics are better overall as compared directly to AH HOWEVER...AH has been doing this for years now with different vehicles and now an updated interface for using the vehicles within the last year.
