Well, the screenies are fantastic with this game, however gamepad set-up is miserable! I have a Logitech Rumblepad 2, a controller that you think would be a breeze to set up. Wrong. I am only given the choice of having ONE of the thumbsticks a digital input, and NEITHER of the triggers. The triggers and left thumbstick are an all or nothing type of deal, making the game unplayable for me. Really sucks because I wanted to enjoy this game. I'm not going to spend another $50+ for a steering wheel / pedal setup.
If I've missed something, PLEASE let me know. Back to DCS A-10 for me.
I've left my eariler post above untouched, to show how frustration can wield it's ugly head. Please read below...

I think every sim is a waste of money if you're not going to use a wheel, I mean, what's the point then? Having said that, it's still in the alpha stages of development.
Btw I have a Rumblepad 2 and the triggers are all or nothing, they don't have an axis like the thumbsticks. Also the Rumblepad 2 is a direct-input controller, all the new games really only support x-input, which you can get with the new Logitech Wireless F710 or Xbox360 controller.

If I've missed something, PLEASE let me know. Back to DCS A-10 for me. Only thing you are missing is PCARS is in Pre-Alpha stage.

id have to agree with the statement that a racing sim is pointless if your not going to use a wheel with it, they are designed with wheels at the forefront. Support may come for pads but seeing as this is only alpha stage that is probably a long way off.
To get the most from any simulation you need the right gear, for racing sims that is a wheel and pedals and unfortunatly the decent ones cost...

Well pCARS is an early beta currently, and if you read the WMD forums they have problems with most control methods other than G25/G27 wheel.
I personally have provided them feedback on the poor Fanatec FFB but I see similar threads for the Thrustmaster T500 etc.
So yeah pCARS is currently a waste of money if you are expecting a finished and working game, you should only have purchased it if you are willing to wait for them to finished developing it and just wanted to support them financially, or if you are interested in being part of the testing and feedback of these early versions, if you were expecting a fully finished and working game then your expectations were not realistic at this point.

I wheel is definitely a must for this. Having said that, I don't think it feels that great even with a wheel at the moment, the relentless tugging/snapping to center is driving me up the wall. The physics in general do not feel that realistic either, just hope it makes big steps in the coming months.
Graphics are nice but physics/ffb and good sound come first in terms of immersion for me personally.

Just wanted to say, the XBox 360 controller support in the pCars alpha is great. Nice default profile, rumble and every button setup by default (including menus).
