Is it worth it? Last played SH4 but had lots of problems with it, mainly crappy crew

EDIT: I meant SH3. Loved the thrill of the hunt though. What is the best SH version with the current mods available, in terms of gameplay? In terms of eye candy? Coz now I got the oomph to push pixels...

I hear SH3 with mods is the best in terms of gameplay and SH5 is definitely the best looking but as far as i have played SH5 plays great too. All the improvements are great IMO.

What mods for SH5? And I'm guessing since it is Atlantic the "search area" is greater than in SH3?

Does it still have the "online-only DRM" (i know there is other means, but it's better if they just have dropped the DRM)? I had great fun with SH3 with GWX, much more than with SH4 + OM, but i think thats because i was only 17yo, and had a lot of time in my hands... in SH4, albeit with awesome graphics, i don't feel so immersed as i was in SH3...

I see there are some mods (even campaign changing ones) to SH5, but the vanilla game looks like it was designed with scripted holywood mission in mind.

Concerning SH5, do you guys think i can run it in a i5-2430m + Gt540m? I can run SH4 with everything on max, + 4x AA + 4x AF, at 40~50fps. I don't wanna spend my blue coins on a game that i cant play, IDK if there is a demo, and i wont "alternative demo" it.

Regarding the DRM, are you seriously not playing a game just because of the DRM? I understand the old Starforce fiasco of ages gone, but online requirement isn't too much of a hassle as our PCs are online all the time anyway, right? If it is about the Ubi servers being available, then yes I understand that point and hope they make a no-online requirement later down the line before they take any servers offline.

IIRC the general reception of SH4 when it came out was SH3 was better, that's why I skipped it.

I just bought SH5 though. Who can resist at £3.74? Haha!

I believe the latest patched turned off the 'always online' DRM, although not checked.

Last time I played I used a really nice Mod pack called:

NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_ByTheDarkWraith

It fixed up a lot of the UI and made it more a SH3 experience. Overall it's not such a good game as SH3 or 4 imho.

@SacaSoh Not sure if your PC is ok or not - sorry. There are a few graphic config things to play with in terms of detail so it's likely you can make it work.
