I've been following this too.
The problem is that the three wide views are poor quality and they have no scale (like someone stood next to the p40) and there are no visible serials etc.
The cockpit shot is probably real - but taken when and where? The image does not suggest the same camera / film. I was thinking there should be more obvious sunlight/shadow inside, especially where the canopy is a few inches open.
The damaged panelling is tricky. Details like the screw head alignment are impressive and suggest something full size.
I was convinced of fakery because of the first three. I can imagine someone setting up a diorama based on what's in the cockpit shot. If it is a model, then it's well done.
Many are saying that it's real and the photographers didn't bother getting more details or better shots because they just weren't that into aircraft... In their trade I'd imagine these finds are legendary but maybe they are just commonplace and barely worthy of investigation?
The original poster says he's going to put more up soon.
It's a shame that the first thing I think when seeing something like this is "Fake"! I've studied the pics and every time I see something that might be wrong, I come up with a plausible explanation.

New prop, engine overhaul, bit of filler, and a coat of paint, and that should see it flying again.
It will be the most completely original P40-E in the world!
I wonder what else is in the Libyan Desert?

Aircraft certainly are, but I'm not sure about a WWII fighter. Your, Lady Be Good is housed in a warehouse in In August 1994, the remains of the craft were recovered by a team led by Dr. Fadel Ali Mohammed and taken to a Libyan military base in Tobruk for safekeeping. The remains were subsequently moved and are now stored at Jamal Abdelnasser Air Force Base, Libya. http://www.rommelinlibya.com/ladybegood/lbgphotos.htmlIt looks like the AFB is in the area close to the border with Egypt, so was not in the Civil War area.

Hi guys,
Sand is a bit like ice but rather more fluid. A few years ago the remains of an Avro Lancastrian were released by a glacier in South America and I see no reason why aircraft which crashed in the desert could not have been covered up by sand dunes only to re-appear decades later. Not all the crashed aircraft during WWII were recovered so who know what might be out there yet?
I am getting old and my memory may be playing tricks but I seem to recall another post war British airliner like the Lancastrian mentioned above going down in the desert - perhaps a Handley Page Hermes? Some of the passengers survived and were recovered but the wreck was left to the Arabs and the sand - one day it might resurface
Pete

Pete I watched a documentary on that. It was indeed a Hermes that crashed in Mauritania in the early fifties. Everybody survived the crash landing, but one of the crew died later. No idea what happened to the plane though...
