I'd say considerable. At least the Panzer IV and StuG III (and probably the new Panzer III) are very detailed whereas the earlier kits (all Panthers and I think most of the Tiger and King Tiger kits as well) suffer from a cost-cutting exercise known as die-cast hull and not so clear details.
