I'm only following this game now for the comedy. What's that German word for taking pleasure in others' pain? Shatzenfurter?

In the world of software projects it's sometimes cheaper and easier to junk the old codebase and start anew from scratch vs. continue to maintain the old project. I wonder where CloD stands in regards to that, and what would happen if they actually had to re-start the development at this point?

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

Its highly doubtfull they will restart the development, it will be written off as a very bad investment, if the the graphic/performance patch is unsuccessful. The investors are already into the sim for millions of dollars and I would imagine they aren't very happy with the delays. Although it appears at this point the performance patch might turn things around if the latest setback isn't too serious. Its obvious the community is upset, but I think the developers and investors who have much more invested than we do, must be ready to drive off a cliff. I know I've been looking forward to this sim for atleast eight years, but I don't have enough invested financially or emotionally, so it will be easy to move on. I would miss the COD forums as they have been very entertaining over last few years. smile

Looking forward to a bit of DCS:A-10c later this evening. Maybe take the A2ASims B-17G on a little trip in FSX. Or get into a furball with Spads and Fokkers.

CloD?

I stopped getting my hopes up weeks ago. Look on the brightside... all that other real life stuff you can do while you're waiting: band

Schadenfreude. hahaha
I only start Clodo from time to time and then drolling over it`s graphics, sounds, FM and DM. It`s to advanced to forget about it. Sure, hopefully we get a fully working sim, with all the features they promised, sometime in the future... rolleyes

So did Shakespeare, so You're in good company! I especially liked 'palsied' smile2

Hehehe, I was actually going for a more Chaucerian middle english 'vibe', though any resemblance to the actual language of Chaucer from childhood school memories is entirely accidental. I also appear to have time travelled to the future in parts, too. hahaha 'Nathelees' (nonetheless), I have amended 'mine' to read 'myne', for historical Chaucerian 'fulle reaylle' accuracy (err, allegedly) smile . 'Time' should also read 'tyme'. biggrin

Its much easier to understand it being a Geordie actually, as we still say a lot of ye olde words like 'gan' meaning 'go' and 'wrang' for 'wrong' and 'larn' meaning 'to teach' etc...'Hyem'- for 'home', many others (mostly Old English-Anglo-Saxon and Norse words) lol. smile
