WTF??? PvP and offline training modes only!! No, I'm not interested in another "Americas Army". Never played Americas Army (despite having some great features, I don't like or play PvP games) and for sure I wont play/buy this one!

What I'm looking for (just like Jedi Master said) is a Single Player and Co-op squad based tactical shooter!

No, not really at all. No matter how you play those games, they can not be realistic (instantly bringing someone back to life who was blown up with an RPG ect.). BF3 actually does bring suppression into play which surprised me, but that is about the only thing realistic about it. CoD is a pure twitch fest.

ArmA 2 is just awful for PvP. Maybe the PR mod fixes that, but otherwise, it fares really poorly as a PvP game. SP and co-op? Good. PvP? Awful.

I do agree with the rest of you, PvP was the least aspect I was looking forward to but it is the simplest to do for obvious reasons (lack of sophisticated AI, squad commands, voice lines, mission briefings and the like) which is why they want to get it out of the way first. Get the core movement, weapon, damage, and loadout mechanics done and shape it into something playable. Sell and get funds to finish making the SP/co-op.

Not ideal, but it looks like their only option. If the PvP game sells poorly, there probably won't be an SP/co-op portion. Something to consider.

At the least, detail training ranges in which you can practice can give you a few hours of fun. I've spent many hours on virtual shooting ranges in GRAW 2, America's Army, Red Orchestra, ArmA ect.

I don't really see ARMA 2 as SO terrible, on the contrary.
But of course it also depends much what you do expect.

Do you ever play MM or TT?

Have to admit I also think the information is a tad bit sparse. Not so much news at all. More like a "we’re still alive" message. I still find the project interesting though. Not enough to get me excited, but still enough for me to keep an eye on it.

I was also hoping for some SP. But at the other hand, I’m not so much put off because they plan to initially release this title as MP game only. I still have good memories of some Red Orchestra (the UT mod) and America’s Army games and would pretty sure enjoy a similar game again

In the end, it all depends on the price. Therefore I’ll wait for their Kickstarter campaign and decide then, whether I’ll jump in or not.

Yeah, I'm exaggerating a bit. The BF games can be decent on realism servers but COD is just COD no matter how you play it smile

In the case of Arma II, I've found it very good for PvP, perhaps the deepest PvP mode I've ever played with the ability to plan, set waypoints, place your team, etc. all in real time. That was on tactical gamer servers running aces though, not the vanilla game.

Of course Coop is where it's at as you said.

A better comparison might be America's Army. The video reminds me of that game so much. Either way, I'll be happy to have another game on the market. I just wish they'd put out Coop at least but they must not have an AI system yet to do so.

I was really hoping for a deep SP experience with serious planning elements. I wasn't expecting this game to go PvP only first. But at least the project isn't dead.

Hey guys, thought I would drop by and mention that Co-op and SP are strictly resource/funding issues for us. Part of the Kickstarter will outline what our funding is going towards and what can additional funding past the goal would add to the project. Co-op and a full SP campaign fall into that. So it is completely dependent on the success of the Kickstarter if it's done initial or add on later.

Cheers!

So there is a chance we might we SP/co-op if the Kickstarter is a huge success. This sounds better already.

If not, I assume that if the PvP game sells and profits well, we can expect the SP/co-op later.

Though for us SP/co-op tactical shooter fans, if we really want to see it in the initial release then we are going to have to donate and spread the word. I should emphasize spreading the word (though not spamming forums) as it goes a long way in helping a project like this reach its goals. Steam groups, friends lists, thread on other forums, reddit, ect. will help a lot.

Hey John! Nice seeing you drop by here in the forums. I look forward for your Kickstarter campaign.

I think one thing that should be made clear from the beginning is what's different in Ground Branch compared to Christian Allen's Takedown. From my point of view, BFS has the advantage of being able to show some actual in-game footage already, so people can actually see what they're going to pledge for. But still, both games share some similarities, which I think make it necessary to point out the differences or even advantages of GB to convince people to pledge again- or to pledge for this game now.

Yes Flogger. That is the situation. If in fact we only end up with the resources for the MP only release, we still have a couple of co-op non-adversarial game modes that you should enjoy. They just are not mission based.
