main difference between the FORCE 3 and the FORCE GT, is FORCE3 takes a nosedive with uncompressible file system data (music, videos, etc etc).

something is definately hitting your 4K read/writes. Some SSDs have a similar 4K performance degradation with "WRITE CACHE" turned off.

most reviews for that drive i've seen have it around.
For Random Fill:
190read / 100 write for seq.
180read / 100 write for 512k
20read / 83 write for 4k
130read / 100 write for 4KQD32

For 0 Fill:
475read / 475 write Seq.
415read / 440 write 512K
30read / 80 write 4K
175read / 320 write 4kQD32

My best guess is that looks like SATA2 speeds.

Neph - did you update to the latest SATA and motherboard chipset drivers? i.e.

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z68VGEN3/#download (from your sig)

YES thank you for posting those numbers you posted they where a BIG Help.. Did they Note which Bench they ran ??

I think the Chipset and the aligning helped.. Wierd that DL said it came out last Dec. but I checked about a month ago and that DL was not there at Asus??..No matter just wondering If I should have to do the alignment for future reference..

It took about an Hour to Completely align the SSD with GParted.. just wondering if it is REALLY necassary??but according to that article it is..

I did Find this info for an SSD alignment to see if an Alignment is needed:

An easy way to see if your drive is aligned or not is to run "msinfo32" from Start|Run. Choose "Components", "Storage", "Disks" and find your SSD. Look for "Partition Starting Offset" and see that it is divisible by 1024. If so, it is aligned. If not, it is not. The usual value for an aligned SSD is 1,048,576 bytes..

if the Alignment is 1024 its the same size as the chips would be (1mb->1Gb->xxxGB per memory chip) where as 1048kb->1.024mb->1.024GB, which means at one point the alignment spans more than one memory chip. thats just my guess, could be other reasons.

Some Driversets had SSD Presets in them, others didnt.

Default mainboard/windows drivers dont have the SSD presets in the driver
