I got a second monitor below my main screen and I intend to use this for displaying gauges and instrument panels and MFDs. At the moment I am using Helios to pull data from the game and display it on the second monitor, and using the built-in Cockpit Display Extraction for DED and MFD display.

I was wonder what others here use? I know about MFDE and Center Pedestal Display from viperpits but do not know how to use them and feel that Helios is superior, but would like to be proven wrong.... Main benefit of Helios is the ability to send commands to the game by pressing buttons/switches on the second monitor, so it's not just for display but for control too!

Here's my work-in-progress layout. I plan to put some switches on the left side of the screen, maybe the Landing Gear panel and the Exterior Lights panel...

I'm doing the same thing, but my MFD's are in the top corners. I need to move them to the bottom and see how that looks. My main monitor is a 26" and the bottom is a 19". You using a 24-26" for yours? I'm using the built in cockpit display extractor and MFDE from viperpits.org. I may have to look into using Helios.

It's a 24" top and 22" bottom setup. Putting the MFDs on the upper part of the 22" would be too far to reach; I'd have to take my back off from the chair. At the bottom they are just in front of my knees which is how it is. biggrin

I just discovered a further limitation to Helios... there are only a few images so things like speedbrakes, gear indicator, etc. are not available so I may have to use MFDE for that. What I don't like about MFDE is that when the program is running, you can still drag/drop/resize the instruments, unlike in Helios that they are locked outside of the Profile Editor.

That is a con? I haven't had a problem with it, but I'm not trying to move things around when it is running. I set everything up and leave it alone after that.

Yes, for me, since I put an ICP on the second monitor as well as a few switches, so inadvertently drag-dropping the MFDE panels is a no-no biggrin

SSSSHSHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, the plan for those two will be for "peripheral vision" and will sit beside the top monitor. However, my bottom monitor is or WAS my son's monitor (hehe!! priorities!!) so he is using the Dells at the moment.
