If you're really worried about bumping people off, only update missions that aren't currently being played - if folks are playing it, the mission isn't too bad and whatever polish you're looking at can wait.

Or, if it's super duper schmooper important to change that mission right now and can't wait, log on to the server, chat "Server's changing missions for some updates", change mission, then update the mission you want, then it'll be updated next time it comes up in rotation.

Only problem is that while acting as the server I can't "window" out of it- alt tab or otherwise... But then again if I switch it to windowed mode on the main computer when I'm not there then that will allow us to do modifications without "alt tabbing" out.

Good point I suppose- provided we can "multitask." I do know the servers are more vulnerable in the multitask world so we might have to see how that goes.

Thanks EP

Just played the Bear mission for an hour or so, quite enjoyable! Only shot down once, not counting my belly landing at Tblisi wink Woulda been much more fun with another player or two though, as I happened across an enemy convoy which, after I killed its accompanying SA-19, shot me down with an SA-8 or something. I got a new plane and wrecked the convoy and then happened across a frendly group of T-72s moving toward a group of about 10 T-80s. I managed to do some actual CAS for the first time over the battlefield in an offensive manner, it was a blast! There was a group of 2-3 BMPs and a T-80 and a few troops farther inside enemy territory but I was out of ammo so I went to rearm at Tblisi.

I was hoping to get there in time to mop up the BMPs and T-80, but they'd decimated the friendly T-72s while I was rearming, that's kinda shocking isn't it? I mean the BMPs fired first and farther than the friendlies but wow. It was kinda disappointing to see 'my' convoy on fire when I returned to help em out, but the fact I felt bad shows the amount of fun this hop was. It woulda been fun to see how far we could take them with more air support!!

Only issues were a tailless and wingless A-10 at 42000 feet and still climbing, and another Hog with engines on fire and one wing missing just flying along fine. Both appeared well off map, and the missing wing A-10 looked like it was flying at night..

Hey tc,
I saw you in the server this afternoon (I was working...).

Glad to say that after almost 5 hours, Rampant Bear is still up and running - this is a mission that can easily go over 24 hours. I'm suspicious of missions crashing if there are never any players that join in the first couple of hours. Right from the start of this instance there were 3 pilots in it for the first 3 hours.

Rampant Bear does not allow any external views, BTW.

I got to build a *bunch* of stuff in White Bird - it is almost ready for trials. :-) Pushing the event dynamics in it. Need to add in a winter storm. BRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

It really isn't a big deal to do a mission upgrade package, I've announced a server restart & upgrade a time or two. The thing is that I have to Join the session to make the announcement; I can't Text Chat through the remote console.

Heh well you've got another hit on your hands if it's this much fun when I'm outnumbered! Also, I entered the coordinates the 42000 foot Hog was at, he was in Northern Iran... Had been flying a while I guess..

WOW, Rampant Bear was going for 19 1/2 hours with one pilot in it. I asked if OK To Reset? and he said OK. I reset it before leaving for work.

Rampant Bear - It's a big mission, covers most of the map west to east.

Sadly, the server is not always showing up under Internet - I keep having to go to History to see it.

We also have Moa's Fulda Gap mission, too, the one where you donna get no stenken TGP. I hate that mission biggrin

OTOH, I'll be adding in the weather to White Bird. Should have it up for an initial run within two days.

Sounds like the internet / history is a known bug judging by one of the posts in the Late night thread.

And about the winter storm... Remember where TC and I are located: How about a summer storm instead?! We just got through winter!

I'm really looking forward to this RAMPANT BEAR mission- and should have lots of time to go meander around in it-
