MadDog - how do you play this on the iPad? Possible to do without using the keyboard?

The great thing is not the new game itself, but that you can play the old originals from inside the new game. So far they have both the original Bard's Tale, and Bard's Tale II, with Bard's Tale III coming. Woot! Been spending several hours playing BT1 already biggrin

Some screenshots (all scaled down from the New iPad (tm)'s resolution).

...

I paid what, $2-3 for the app, and I've sofar spent at least 5 hours with just BT1. The graphics are 80s, but unlike games like Baldur's Gate (1), I can actually just sit and watch time fly with this, having a blast.

OMG! I cut my teeth with this on the Apple ][e

...You face:

Does your stalwart band:

GREAT MEMORIES INDEED!

Thank you so much for this heads-up!

App purchased!!

Yes, you can play it almost entirely by touch (except for naming your character and when you need to type in text to answer a riddle).
Just press on the street view picture to move. Top = forward, left/right = turn to the side, bottom = about face.
And you just press on the line of what option you want to use. Cast a spell in combat and you get a list of spells you scroll through.
Only other time I bring forth the keyboard is when I have to cast a spell, use an item or sing a bard song while travelling.
To select a party member to view him just touch his name in the party list and you get his screen and equipment.

I play it that way, minimal use of the keyboard.
