Sounds good to me Eno and WC. I enjoy flying with the group here and am glad you guys are working out steps to protect the team players from the team killers.

That's the thing. Friendly fire is part of war. Shouldn't even bother kicking for a mistake. It's a mistake. Deliberate, sustained attacks on one's team are another thing.

Speaking on behalf of the newbies around here -

I've accidentally tk'ed friendly AI units twice - once because I was (past tense biggrin ) unfamiliar with unit types and fired a Mav at a friendly Vulcan APC. The other was an Abrams mysteriously on its own in Red country during Fulda Gap - no TGP so mistakes were easier to make. I'd definitely like to see lenience towards AI team kills.

In other news I liberated Novo in Highway last night... that mission is heaps of fun! As you've often said WC, it's great GAU-8 training^^

Ants in your pants...

Should be able to take out the hives now that the spawn time is +20 minutes - red flares.

If you see White flares then the spawn is gone.

New logic - if all spawned vehicles are destroyed then Blue wins.

LOL @ Drakonian.

Okay, okay... I get it. smile

I'll go back over the settings tonight and turn it down a notch.

On an extremely positive note, the CO of the "squadron in question" from before did end up getting back to me. He apologized for the delay, using "being deployed in afghanistan" as an excuse. wink Kidding of course- I was amazed that he bothered responding but it's evidence of how seriously they take their squadron's affairs. The fact that he would still send me an email regarding such things was certainly a credit to him and the squadron. He will be forwarding the complaint to the XO and we'll take it from there. For me at this point it's more a matter of giving them a chance to preserve the reputation of the squadron... we've dealt with it our way and they can now deal with it their way.

I will tone things down slightly-

And Crew- I think there is a setting for human vs AI friendlies... quite a few settings so I'll try and get it to the point you're getting at.

I do think, however, that you should be warning people in the briefing material that TK and friendly AI kills are penalized and could result in kicks or bans... so to take the friendly fire seriously. If there is doubt... we should ALL be taking another look.

On another note- the server is currently set to "pause" when it is empty. Currently it will restart in 1 minute from the arrival of a new person. I'm going to see if I can set that to a decimal so it's less than a minute- but I'm not sure I can do that.

Again- some of this stuff is just going to have to be introduced at the top of the briefing material.

I had no doubt that Tyger would get back to you. He doesn't take this sort of thing lightly. smile

Your aircraft looks like I did through my early teen years- only I probably suffered more ridicule than your aircraft did. Oh- and it has a man inside it.

Servman update!

As requested I have toned down my ban hammer posture on the server and loosened my tolerance somewhat.

5 AI kills = 5 minute kick
1 human kill = 5 minute kick
3 kicks = ban hammer

I've also posted these rules under /rules... very basic-

I don't quite have the lattitude that WC was talking about- no sliding scale / shock collar.

In reading the threads from servman it sounds like there may be a glitch with my "pause when empty" setting- but it seems to work for some people and not for others. WC used the /resume function and it appeared to work.

People just need to remember the mission will remain paused automatically for roughly 1 minute... I think some people forget that when they post their "pause doesn't work" issues.

I do have some good logs being kept and some of them are kind of fun to read. I'll post some of the highlights if anything catches my eye!

One concern I have is that when we type in our /login username password stuff I'm afraid if we leave it on "send to all" that everyone can see your information. It may just be because I'm a "superadmin" when I'm logged into the server computer- I can't tell.

Anyway- just a word of warning to you guys... WC, you may want to check it on raven's system.

Further comments are welcome. By making the changes I have I hope you can see that, in the words of Frasier Crane "I'm listening!"
