Wow, you were up there XRay,
Yeah, I was gone for a while... Now I'm outta here to fly down to Austin for Father's Day - see you guys on Tuesday!

I'll try to get some pictures of the new Formula 1 track.

Fulda gap is up and a few guys have put a dent in a few different groups. There was a red BS as well- took out some Abrams.

Probably swap between this and rampant bear over the weekend.

Eh guys...

Okay- a couple of things:

I'm gone and Crew is gone until at least tomorrow. I have the rampant bear mission running. No idea where it's at now but last night lucky and I took a stab at filling in the tunnel. He crashed out somehow and I never saw him again. I took another couple stabs at things but was shooting at the wrong side of the tunnel with most of my heavy mavs. By the time I got things figured out I had nothing but 97s and D mavs ( I think)... all they did was turn over the rose garden on the bunker at the tunnel location- though I was able to take out the watchtower with old-faithful (GAU-8).

It was running this AM when I checked on it. As lucky remarked someone had been doing some work near loti- there were a number of smoke trails... and I was finding the area between angels 10-20 was reasonably quiet... By now most of the stuff may be burned off and clear.

Not sure the status of the tunnel- I'm hoping we filled it in enough that the armour will have had to take the long road around. When I went in this morning there were half a dozen guys in and out- but because I have the 3d rendering disabled on the server I couldn't see what was going on.

Again- I won't be updating until things start to smooth out in terms of the whole beta.

On an additional note- there was a guy I was flying with near the end who got smacked by an SA-10 and his reaction was (IR missles at 22k?!) Seems to me that SA-10 thing continues to plague users... hopefully it's something addressed in the patch as there is no launch warning at all or the SA-10. Does it outreach our sensors?

I know we've talked about this before and GG was saying he was going to pass it on but we never heard anything about it since.

And you won't hear anything about it until it is fixed, or ... not fixed smile

Since there are no SEAD flights around, how about not putting an SA-10 near where A-10's fly? biggrin

That's a good suggestion for WC- Maybe he can edit them out or at least shut them down for now?

Or maybe he won't? At least that way we still need to be careful of them because nobody will know if they're active or not. I'm not sure if they can be programmed to scan but not fire?

Just a thought.

Sorry for those of you who were looking for the server in the past couple days- I went to check on it tonight to find that everything had been closed down for an unknown amount of time. We're started back up again... I'm thinking we'll be swapping between highway and riders at least for tonight / tomorrow. Nukeplant and white bird after that.

Crew has something else cooking as well- we'll see if he survived his trip to Austin!

See ya...

Thanks for the update Eno! As for the SA-10s it's a fun challenge but hopefully they'll get them working on the RWR so the warning isn't a smack followed by a master caution panel Christmas.

Hey I'm back and awake even. Good to be home... Watched half of last season's Fringe yesterday.

More later but re the SA-10s.
Those things are there to keep A-10s out of an area. Stay away from them - they will kill an A-10. You see a 'BB' on your RWR and it starts twittering then best to head the other way.

Those missiles can go very far - so perhaps the launch and missile plume sensors on our jets are not able to 'see' those telltales. The missile goes ballistic and is gliding when it gets within the A-10C's sensor range.

---

Now this is funny - Rampant Bear is 104th_Moa's mission, not mine. GMTA

---

I'll check the server to make sure it is running. I hope to be on-line tonight; I've got some errands to run for now. (How does that cold start process go, again?)

I can see how they might be much too far away when fired to be seen by the MWS, I mean you'd have to set it to false positive causing, "bee sneezing", level to pick up launches from that far off, but shouldn't the RWR give an indication there's a radar guiding a missile on you? I thought this was a confirmed issue, just checking.

I am still looking for those bastards that keep killing me at the tunnel.
