That is odd! Maybe you can gain angles easier when you're able to fly sideways? Btw I am adding Ants to mental list of
fave missions (Fulda, Road Kill and the Bear one). I think you tried to get music working before WC, wouldn't that Dave Mathews song on repeat add some fun to Ants? biggrin

Also I read in your briefing for Ants that air defenses are light. ZSUs, 2S6, MANPADS and an invisible SA-13 is light by your standards.. hehe figures! wink

So maybe it is easier to survive in the bs?

We won by a hair. The General was on the road next to Dada Lake. It was pretty late night, though. Draggin' a bit today, but hey I'm on vacation!

And yes, those Black Sharks seem almost invisible to the missile threats. I wonder if it is because their speed is so low that the radars are not able to track the doppler?

tc, I wonder if any extra mission sounds would require that the sound/music file be on the Client computer...?

That's just pesky air defense in Ants! biggrin

I was kidding about the song anyway, it's a little chipper for blowing up things. I'm not crazy, right, didn't you try and get a doors song working once for atmosphere? Great job again on that mission, I've been away from the Hawg for a few weeks and was worried I wasn't gonna get my enthusiasm back until I played a few times this week. No worries there, and that's while still spotting things with a hat switch biggrin

Eno and I worked together a bit last night trying to draw out threats with one person spotting from high up while the other lit their jet up with strobes so the spotter could see em easily and did some low passes. Was pretty fun looking for things that way, the teamwork, even if it was basic, was pretty cool so thanks Eno. And speaking of overflying things and DARING them to take a crack at you, it seemed the APCs weren't really shooting back at us, as if low light is modeled for the AI so it's hard for them to see us buzzing around. Very cool if so!

Well, I got this crazy idea recently that Ants was too hard and that there was no way for the Blue to win. (Actually that was the idea from the start.)

So in Ants, whenever a new hive got created the spawn time was only four minutes - not enough time to find it, target it, SPI it and destroy it - so I increased that to 24 minutes. Ants in your pants. It will run from 2300 to 0400 and time out if not won earlier.

I made some minor edits to The Highway and White Bird. DCSW is installed but not ready for Prime Time IMHO.

A few eye-openers but nothing cataclysmic! Hopped into White Bird briefly last night but the mission reset just as I was getting into it... When it restarted I looked at my T-O-T for Gudauta and thought... maybe another time biggrin

Edit: About Ants, I for one really liked the frantic timing of the Ants mission - the only thing that really got me was the Shilka spawning in with the outpost! (As you may remember WC^^) It always seemed to happen just as I was lining up on the BMPs. I wondered how smart it would be to have the Shilka roll with the BMPs from their spawn point...? (Would that present the problem of the Shilka not being defined as a win condition against the new outpost?)

Yes, Lucky,
And I like my snap views. But we'll shake out this stuff... For now we are holding off on the server and missions switch over - sticking with v1.1.1.1.

No saying when we would switch other than to say with the official release. We might give the beta a test run or two.

That's a *great* idea XRay_Specs! shedevil
And it would not be any problem (unless you are flying Blue). pilot

Do let me know if this new Ants with the longer spawn time is OK - if it is too easy smile then some Shilkas could be added to the ant convoys. The spawn time for the ants is indicated by red flares coming from the underground bunkers.

Had a great time in Ants again, sorry I had to leave before you got back WC. I liked the addition of Strelas at outposts... sometimes a bit hard to find though...!

Waaaaaaaiiiit a minute...
