Dave, I'm workin' on an updated desktop icon and I've added ODS to my Menu X (HD) to-do list. I'll keep you updated...

I have SF2 (et.all) in XP installed. I followed your download and install directions very attentively, creating a MOD folder using SF2Europe named "ODS" into which I transferred the contents of all three installation folders. However, I cannot understand that between 60% to 70% of the campaign set up the system will crash reporting:

The Instruction at "0x6317327" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".

Please explain what I missed in setting up Desert Storm so it can be corrected.

The system which supports SF2 MODs, such as Operation Hydra, Isreal, Falklands, Taiwan etc., is a XP, Intel Core Duo (2.2Ghz), 4GB System DRAM, GTX250 (1GB Vram). SF2 is patched through April 2012.

Ideas on why this MOD fails to load would be appreciated.

5555,

XP and Dx9 might be the issue in April2012 IMO

also do you have SF2 Europe? of course make clean install just for the ODS mod

I had suspected that the problem with the MOD "Desert Storm" was my own. After retracing my installation steps in comparasion with the instructions, I found that a FFU had committed where I had done something early in the process that was the probable "Fundamental" cause of the "FU". After all the other MODs that I had installed for SF2 I thought that the advice given by one developper was sound:

"Install as per the Knowledge base for Standalone Mods.
And Delete The Aircraft and Ground Objects before you dump these files in."

I did this for DS, but added the "Fundamental" complication by creating an .INI file linked to the main executable. Although renamed from the SF2Europe original, it contained no text changes. The "Desert Storm" MOD does not require any configuration to its modified executable.

Again, I run XP with the program patched to April 2012. All programs run well. Now even "Desert Storm". I would like to install the new North Atlantic addtion, but for some unforeseen reason the marketing geniuses have decided to move on from the original customer base who still support the same core product "Strike Fighters 2"
