Old-school indie dungeon crawler. Good price, and tempted due to 'Eye of the Beholder' nostalgia.

Anyone got it already?

Another forum I belong to has a thread about this and they love it. The OP always likes to Roleplay a crazy gnome, so the language is pretty bad in the post as a warning. BTW, RL the crazy gnome is a lawyer. I #%&*$# you not. LOL

Reminds me of an old Heroes of Might and Magic game...

Reminds me of Dungeon Master on the Amiga. Loved that game.

Yep, a definite DM vibe - used to like those games too.

@Destructis - loved the link, plus that gnome/lawyer made me laugh smile

Great find! Yep, it's almost identical to Dungeon Master from my Atari ST. I bought it, tinkered with it a little bit, and aside from the graphics, the gameplay is almost identical. Which is not a bad thing.

It's not too demanding from a hardware standpoint, so that's cool - you could probably play it on a medium laptop with no problem, making it a fun time-killer while traveling.

Are the dungeon levels randomly generated?

I've had it for a couple of days and am really enjoying it. I've found two things though, it's bloody hard and you need to turn on vsync or your GPU will melt.
Some of the puzzels will have you scratching your head.

Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.
Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake.
No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.

It looked quite nice until I saw the odd behaviour when combat occurred. Sliding to 'squares'? Taking turns to attack? Sigh, move along...

Oh c'mon Mace, where's ya sense of adventure!
It's definitely "old skool", you don't have any Elder scrolls freedom here, I preordered and got the goodies with it including graph paper to print off if you want to try your hand at a bit of cartography.

If anyone has a Nintendo DS in the house there's a game called Etrian Odyssey that's in the same vien but it's turn based combat, that's worth picking up if your into your RPG's.
