Panther posted the iRacing holiday special going on this weekend in the SimHQ iRacing forum. I'm just linking it here to get more views.

Bought OFP Red River, and I couldn't resist..even if the gameplay might suck, I also bought Sniper Ghost Warrior and the DLC:

This sale is going to cost me..(although not that much..) I'll never have time to play these. Might get to play them in a couple years..

Today's Steam deals mini-reviews (i.e. the ones I own already, so know at least something about):

- Total War Megapack. $12 If you ever had any inkling for strategy and have a PC that can show colors then worth it. If really not sure then perhaps just pick up Napoleon: Total War for $5 and then regret not getting the others later.

- RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.$10 I preferred the older isometric ones but this is pretty good. Kids had fun with it with an infinite money cheat (still looking for one of those for RL).

- VVVVVV. $1! Old school hard platformer with great chip-tunes music. Brutal learning curve but enjoyable.

- Monkey Island Bundle. $5 Humor dependent but worth it. If not sure then the first one is the good one.

- Red Orchestra 2. $20 Hard first-person shooter with a dab of 'realism'. An acquired taste but very good if in to Mil/WWII. MP is not that new player friendly but a rewarding game. Heroes is the newer softer one, while Ostfront has a smaller hardcore MP following. If not sure then go Hero.

- Fallout New Vegas. $5 Good sequel, worth playing. Preferred story in the #3, but the execution of this one is smoother. So worth $5.

- L.A. Noire. $25 I found this disappointing, and didn't play through on PC. Great graphics and interesting interview game mechanic, but not a true sandbox game like GTA/SR. If you like the 40's period setting and have a decent PC then worth it, otherwise it'll be cheaper at Christmas.

- Operation Flashpoint: Red River - Good SimHQ review here: http://www.simhq.com/_land3/land_124a.html

Okey Dokey, today's mini-reviews of the Daily Deals Steam stuff (ones that I own anyway)

- Dead Island, $25. Enjoyed it, although didn't complete the main campaign as I got a bit bored. The co-op worked really well. Unless you are a zombie fan then it might be worth passing on.

- Chronicles of Riddick: AoDA , $5. Good first-person thing based on the movie. Includes the prequel, which I preferred, called 'Butcher Bay'. Decent value and has aged pretty well.

- Space Marine, $33. A bit overpriced still, this is 'Gears of Warhammer' and not the RTS format of others in the series but more a 'tactical' gore shooter. Unless a fan of the lore then perhaps skip till cheaper.

- Deux Ex: HR, $24. A great adventure stealth/shooter worth at least one play-through. Nice upgrade game mechanic and decent story. Cyberpunky.

- SW. KotOR, $5. A classic game that has aged pretty well. Fantastic story which some decent interactions/choices along the way. Far better than anything Uncle George the Teddy Bear Maker has come up with anyway.

- Flight Control HD, $1. Catnip for OCD. Better on the iPad, but for $1 worth a look if you want that 'zoned out' feeling.

- GTA IV, $5. Good value for a not fantastic PC port. If you have an ok PC then really enjoyable to explore/drive/beat people with hammers etc

- Serious Sam HD. Old School shooter updated. If you ever miss Doom or thought how Duke Nukem should have look then worth taking a look. A truly mindless pure shooter.

Also on STEAM Sale today is Section 8:Prejudice.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/97100/

I suck at it like nobody's business in any of the MP arenas, but it is a fun Sci-Fi shooter.

The SP campaign is kind of fun. Several MP modes including one 4 person COOP mode: SWARM. A bit frantic and repetitive, but I think its fun (except I suck). For the price, ($3.74 + $2.49 for all the DLC) it is more than worth it. Last time I bought a 4 Pack and gave 3 away to have some COOP partners.

The 4 pack includes all the DLC for $11.24. Maybe the single purchase already includes them too?

Thanks for the recommendation, Recluse. I've been on an FPS kick lately so I picked up Section 8:Prejudice. Also grabbed the original Section 8 for $2.49.
