Nice write up, adlabs! I was very cautious of this title, thinking it was an arcade-game trying to present itself as a simulation, but it looks like it's a simulation packed in an arcade game. The original Lander was essentiall the same thing, although the simulation model was pretty simplified! Certainly looks like fun - hopping around the Moon while having to coordinate RCS and main thruster output sounds like it could be addictive!

I wrote this a month or so ago for the preview "I just bought it a few days ago. WOW! This is tough. I love how hard it is. Right now I'm trying to go in a straight line from the north base to the south base. I havent made it yet. I've been using just the keyboard so far. Maybe I need to confiure the CH HOTAS for it. Good thing there's no wind on the Moon or I'd really be screwed"

I've since setup my HOTAS for it but I still manage to loose it if I start getting too many forces going all at the same time. Good advice on keeping it simple. A throttle is the bare minimum control you would need to have any success at all. Keyboard only is hopeless. If you like a challenge try it!

Keyboard is perfectly usable so long as you avoid Pitch and Roll inputs. smile

Avoid doing Lost Cargo missions until you can buy a Stabiliser which makes it easier to level out.

Watch the Flight School videos. wink

sh0v0r,

Bought on Steam tonight. Fired it up. Wow this game looks and sounds great. Really impressed. I don't have my joystick hooked up or anything yet and I'm just using the keyboard but I'll give the flight school videos a watch and see if I can fly to another base.

So far all I was doing was thrusting up, and coming back down and landing on the same platform, with some slight movements just to see how they effect the module. I can see this being very addictive smile Well done!

Okay damn. This game is addicting.

I crashed my first 3 attempts at transporting cargo. Then I nailed it on attempt 4. I went on to land 3 more cargo missions after that! I just moved up in rank to level 2 and purchases some upgrades. Very cool game I'm having fun.

I don't think my skills are very good yet but at least I can take off and land. I'm still sort of flying by the seat of my pants and burning up way too much fuel than your probably suppose to but oh well smile

I was tempted to buy this on Steam but I couldn't decide - would I actually play it, or would it just take up space on my hard drive? So I checked the game's web site, and saw the link to the review. Adlabs' wonderful description and critique just sold me a copy! smile

BTW I wouldn't mind at all seeing some new/different vehicles offered for this, perhaps through a micropurchase model. Extra points if the new vehicles are skinnable!
