Pedro, hows it going?
Check the link vpmedia posted above: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21514.msg239532.html#msg239532

It is a HUGE package (19 parts) but well worth the time to download.

As stated there, this will take 1946 from the box disc to the latest and best version available today.

The package provides the ability, through a selector, to load your choice of mod packs, including DBW, DBW 1916 which is the WWI option as well as UP3, Stock game, SAS modact 3.

If you have never used mods, be prepared for a whole new IL2 experience.

DBW is built strictly for offline play and adds an immense amount of content.

I have not gone online in a couple of years so not up on what is needed there.

Good luck with your return.

Interesting I posted this same thing a few days ago and it disappeared...

Not wanting to take a chance I downloaded once again the patch to 4.10.1 and the splash screen does indeed now say it's 4.10.1. Then I downloaded UP3.0RC4 again twice and it works just fine.

Downloaded DBW super install, again twice and neither of them work. I'm back to the Russian version of 4.09. I know I did everything right this time. Is there any way of telling what is going wrong?

I can't believe I'm doing this. I dug up my 4.07m disk and loaded it. I'll download your selected file tonight.Previously I started with a 4.09m. I can't believe I actually found the DVD.

Thanks for your help so far Dave63. We all appreciate it very much. bottles

For DBW 1.71 you should check out the following mods, they'll give you amazing new aircraft, objects and special fx:

CLEAN DBW Modding JGME Packs (Aircraft and static objets)
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,19921.0.html

Gurner FX compilation 4.2
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20929.0.html

New damage layers for all stock Bf-109/Fw-190/Yak/La/Spitfire/Bf-110/Hurricane
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25041.0.html

SAS skinmods:
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,15030.0.html

Skinpack for mod planes
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21040.0.html

(Its not a bad idea to backup you entire game folder before you start to add additional stuff, since IL-2 1946 doesnt use registry entries you can use this backup without the need to reinstall it.)

Is it possible to install the Ultrapack mod if I purchase Il2 1946 from Steam?

Imo I would look into the Good Old Games version and avoid the Steam problems.
Missing Folders in the Steam version of IL-2 1946: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=628

The Good Old Games version does not have any DRM and will work if you are using Windows 7.
