I owned the Tandy TRS-80 at home, but a Commodore was the first computer I used in school. Third grade, I think. I can still hear the sound of those keys clicking all over the computer lab.

My first computer - my son has it now and it still fires up. My first game was Microsoft Flight Sim 2, to be followed soon by SubLogic Jet, SubLogic Chopper and the original Gunship!.

My first computer was also a Commodore-64.

RIP Jack, thanks for all the joy your creations have given us over the years.

Definitely a name to be mentioned with Gates, Jobs, etc. First at Commodore and then at Atari, Jack Tramiel may have been more responsible than either Jobs or Gates for making computers something everyone could afford, which of course resulted in their being so widespread today.

And the disc drive on mine was almost as fast as the cassette drive on the BBC B I had later, but loved the C64, eventually I got a Z80 and CPM module for it just before I traded it in for the BBC B
