... and I grabbed ORBX PNW while it's still on sale. I've had the demo for the last few months and decided the full area is easily worth $22!
I used up 10 of my 100 downloads trying to get a .zip file that wasn't corrupt, though. That was pretty frustrating, and also meant I haven't had a chance to fly to any areas outside the demo area yet. I also grabbed the free KHQM and 2S1.
I'm still looking forward to Alaska and will probably grab it, as long as the price/quality is reasonable. It will certainly be interesting to see if the final price is comparable to Hawaii and what the quality is like...

Orbx makes some fantastic scenery. Enjoy it! I had trouble downloading from them too in the past. Not sure why, but as long as you finally got it, thats all the matters.

Wow congrats malibu43!
OrbxPNW is my single favorite ever scenery add-on, you just can't beat it's number of close by airfields on islands and beautiful scenery in that region and all the airfields got a decent Orbx Object Lib makeover, not full add-on airport treatment but definitely tons better than FSX default.
Don't forget to pick up OZX NA they did quite a few nice airfields too especially bush fields on the Puget Sound islands, Stuart Island Airpark 7WA5 is my favorite, just a couple of minutes north of Friday Harbor and a fun takeoff and land even when I only have a few minutes to Fly.

Wow. Had no idea about OZX. I'll have to check out their NA stuff.

I downloaded all the ORBX major sceneries. Have 'em all installed, including New Zealand South Island. I've had all of Australia (SP4) since last year, but picked up the rest over the weekend because all were on sale. But one of the best pieces of scenery isn't from ORBX. It's Antarctica X by Aerosoft. And the GEX series is awesome too. See Antarctica X. Compare it to your stock Antarctica. No other company covers Antarctica. http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd,,12123I guess I'm a stickler for having EVERY continent enhanced.

Wow. Had no idea about OZX. I'll have to check out their NA stuff. Well, the OZx stuff caused my FSX to freeze any time I tried to fly from a PNW airport. Uninstalled OZx. Still screwed up. Reinstalled ORBX PNW and finally it works OK again. I'm going to hold off on trying the OZx stuff again. I followed all the installation instructions to the letter and had the correct folders and scenery library order. Maybe I'll post on their forums and give it a try after I've gotten tired of "plain" ORBX PNW (ie - probably never).

I like having just a few small areas that are really detailed. Since I don't have that much time to fly, it works well for me. All I have, in terms of addon scenery, is ORBX PNW and BlueSkyScenery CA/NV/AZ. It's more than enough to keep me busy for a long time.

I don't have much time either. I leave for work at 5 am and get home about 9 pm. every day. But when I do fly FSX, I want to choose from the ENTIRE PLANET! I want buildings, traffic on the roads, waters, and skies. Otherwise, I might as well fly something limited and lame like, well...MS Flight.
If I had only a single hour per month I would still want the entire planet to choose from for that single hour. Flying around the same small detailed areas is excruciatingly boring when the entire planet is easily accessible.

I'm also one of those people who prefers a realistic looking scenery and so if forced to choose would pick smaller realistic looking areas over a more generic large worldwide coverage.
I actually have UTX and GEX installed but rarely fly outside of Orbx areas (or now MegasceneryX Hawaii) because I don't think the UTX+GEX scenery is realistic enough looking for me, to suspend my virtual flying disbelief, this is the same problem I have with XP10 so far, the "plausible" scenery may be plausible but doesn't look realistic to me yet, hopefully they will keep improving it.
But everyone likes different things though, and the cool thing is that there's options to support everyone's tastes.

Here are my Mexico City pics -- no ORBX needed! http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3516467/World_Tour_Mexico_City_Mexico.html#Post3516467Or, how about Antarctica? No ORBX needeed! http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3517390/Antarctica_in_FSX_Does_Your_An.html#Post3517390I love ORBX, but they aren't the only game in town.
