Room's done being painted. Two more work days this week (Sun/Mon are my days off) then I can start putting stuff together. That is, when I'm not watching the Braves or the Masters... smile

Well I put the shell of the cockpit together tonight after dinner. Wiring, equipment mounting, and touch-up paint will be done off and on this weekend and the computer should be here at the end of the week. The only thing construction-wise I'm not sure about it placement of the UM80's behind the MFD dashboard. I know they fit behind there as I verified that when I was building the dash, but the actual lining-up of the MFD screen with the Cougar MFD is something that will have to be done once I have a computer to test it out on. wink

Well done sir. I myself just got the green-light from the wife to build my first simpit. Still in the design process. What screens are you placing behind the MFD's?

That would be the Lilliput UM-80s. I've got two of them. Anybody know if they have a problem being on a powered USB hub, or if they need to be directly plugged into the computer?

Looks nice, I have next week, then it's off of work for 2 weeks....can't wait. Gonna work on my pit and figure out how I'm gonna set up the 4th monitor. Works great in Falcon BMS with 3 monitors, FC2 I only use 2.

Excellent job. Very neat and well laid out. Look forward to seeing the finished set up.

Thanks guys... I'm a stickler for neat wiring.

Although I have to put the USB hub somewhere... and label all the wires. There's a 12-port Satechi USB hub under this mess...

Wide view... (the plastic will be taken off the TV once I use it with the computer for a while and am certain I won't take it back to Costco)

Close up of the MFDs/ICP and the dash I built for them. The UM-80s are attached inside it with velcro. The sides are scrap 1/2" plywood (getting the angle just right was difficult and involved using a level so the top and front were both level). The top and front are both 1/4" pine.

Nice work! What's with the angle on the joystick though? And might want to take the joystick off from the metal base plate and mount it straight onto the wood, would be closer to your side too.
