My latest trip up Scafell Pike (highest mountain in England at 3,209ft). I followed Alfred Wainwrights walk from Seatoller. 11 mile round trip and 3,200ft of ascent.

Going up was fine - coming back down at 19 stone is a big ask for my knees and calves. Took my youngest daughter and was very proud of her.

Pictures taken with my Olympus SP-610UZ. Sorry for the first 10 photos - I forgot to reset the white balance to sunny! And the focus may not be great on some of them - but my hands aren't as steady as they used to be wink

Thanks Jim - it was a great day and a big walk. We were both VERY tired that night.

Mace - on the way down I did see a couple of guys taking their bikes UP the hill - couldn't believe it. Mental. Also lots of fell runners! As for the shirt - I'm surprised I'm still wearing it after the 6 Nations of late!

Nice pics. Kinda reminds me of Norway, actually; very rocky, extraordinarily scenic.

Feel with you about the knees. It is also my main issue that keeps me from doing longer hikes, going downhill wears on my left knee. Mainly due to my weight (110kg).

Thanks for the comments guys. It was an epic trip and very beautiful - though The Pike itself is pretty ugly - just boulders...and by the time you get there, you're so tired all you seem to do is stumble about! :-)

I'm right there with you with the knees EAF - 120Kg - so I know you know what I'm talking about.

'course - I could always stop eating like a pig and lose some weight - I never know - it might help me! :-)
