No that's not what I was thinking. I was thinking that you believe a community effort to be unworthy of your time. Again, probably wrong after reading your response.

Finally, you never actually said it was a bad sim, but the way your post was laid out, DCS-A10 was great, the ones that followed led me to believe that they were descending in quality as the list went on. I mean, just look at where you have that comment. It's smack dab in the middle of a lot of negative observations.

To wrap it up, shame on me for not finishing your post (several beers had made me a bit hasty), because I just did, and while I still don't like the BMS comments, I do agree with your conclusion. I still remember the days of walking into Babbages or such and having an entire section of flight sims to choose from. I seem to recall going to the mall like once a month to pick up another flight sim (don't know if that memory is accurate, but I know I went often).

No worries friend, we've all made beer-fuled posts beercheers

To be clear, I do very much like Falcon BMS, and am glad that it's with us. yep .

I haven't played it much, namely because the F-16 is a very, very complicated machine, and the BMS crew did their homework in simulating it. I simply haven't had time to crack ye' olde manual and 'do it right.'

I also love all those sims (well, except CloD, which as far as I'm concerned, hasn't actually be "launched" yet. I'll weigh in once it comes out of beta wink )

Ironically, without realizing it, your last paragraph posits a counter-point to my conclusion. I realized I sill do go to the mall each month and buy a new sim, It's just a different mall: About once a month, a new scenery or plane comes out for FSX that catches my attention, and warrants purchase.

Again, (and again, and again) I have to wonder why people are tired of reading negative comments about something that is taking a different direction as we speak. It isn't like Flight is a static product that was released and has no changes to it. Flight will be constantly evolving (or devolving) so opinions right now (I'd argue) are in fact crucial to putting a vector on its direction that is more geared toward what some of us like.

Unlike others, I don't think there is "nothing" good about Flight. If you read my review, I'm very positive about many aspects of Flight. The overall experience falls flat, but there are individual components that are done very well.

Over the years I've been a big cheerleader for underdog sims (X-Plane, Apache Air Assault, etc..) so it isn't like I don't give sims their due credit. Flight is just not a very fun game or sim though. I can hope that my criticism will shape its future and to me, that is worth the time to put down the negative and positive thoughts.

By not doing so, and encouraging others to basically not post critical comments, you are actually doing the community a disservice since silence might equal agreement in Microsoft's eyes (there really is no telling what they are thinking though actually...rational thought seems to elude them..)

I would agree with you Beach, I don't understand why people want others, who have a different opinion than their own to be silent, as if that would change things.
I too would like to enjoy Flight but it's just not that enjoyable. It's Boring there is no real purpose to it, passengers are invisible, cargo is non existent and multiplayer is pointless and they want to charge a little too much for adding to the game any content which is equally disappointing not to mention that it's obvious they think they are pitching to non flight simmers who most of which are going to download because it's free and try to crash into things (or other players) because there is nothing else to do, how many Gamers are going to spend 40-50 bucks on this turd just to fly around and do nothing? I think that's the part that vexes me there just isn't enough content to keep you interested.

I think we're all saying the same thing and just not all understanding it:
* We all tend to agree Flight has negatives
* We all tend to agree Flight could be better
* We all tend to agree the current Flight leadership team (i.e. Josh Howard) is annoying and misguided
* We all like to discuss the pros and cons of flight sims together.
* Some of us see more potential in Flight than others but I think everyone would probably like FSX with Flight's engine improvements.

I think as far as all that we're all good talking about it, and discussing each new "Flight development" as it comes up pros and cons.

Where it gets old and what triggers the deadhorse is where something was discussed for 5-10 pages and then a few days later someone rediscovers the disappointment and posts a new thread on it (understandable since there are many disappointments), but then some people will reply back with the same original complaints as before that were already well discussed.

So not necessarily that we can't discuss new stuff about the cons, but that we've already discussed this particular con ad nauseum :-)

Anyhow that is my analysis of the situation, no matter what our national culture may be, most of us don't like censorship but we get tired of hearing the same thing over and over with nothing new, let's avoid seeing this forum become like the PWEC - an echo chamber of people posting the same old tired positions without being open to input or changing their mind, my personal opinion of course biggrin

Maybe if there was some way to merge threads on a previous subject that might lessen the chance of this.

It's just the same people complaining here, Beach... which was the point of my post.

Has nothing to do with trying to silence anyone.

We get it! Those who don't like the game don't like it. We don't need to be constantly reminded by them that they don't like it.

I have decided that 5 page threads that discuss 1 post that complains about Flight are far more anoying than 5 page threads complaining about Flight!

biggrin

Now, back to flying!!! All of you! Or, all of us!

Maybe we need a 5 page thread emoticon.. it would be a black hole which once placed, suck the entire thread into oblivion..
