What do you mean you're sick of me going on about NTW?

Couldn't agree more Mace, heartily recommended. Long term player of the Total War series, going back to Rome (didn't bother with original Shogun). Its all I played apart from flight sims for ages. This is my favourite period of history along with Antiquity, really hope like others here that they do a Rome:2 one day. I used to play the Medieval Total war 2-Kingdoms "Stainless Steel" mod too which was good, but don't have the time really anymore. I keep thinking about giving Shogun:2 a crack, lots going for it....its just that the scenario doesn't really grab my interest....never has done.

Well worth getting though, agreed. I like 'Empire' modded too (the first release was an 'Epic Fail' though hehehe), just for the variety...though NTW is better overall I feel. Multiplayer is fun and it can be a great challenge going up against a Hoo-man General.

Komemiute and I have played ETW the other day Biggles, you should join in too. We were going to recreate historical battles and see what the outcome was, although he trounced me the other day lol. If he gets NTW (hint hint) we could do that too.

Empire was the first game I ever used on Steam Mace.....Which I was outraged about at the time lol because I bought the DVD ( 'Special forces' edition) expressly so I wouldn't have to download it through Steam. Many people had this problem when it was first released, it would just download from Steam automatically whether you put the DVD in or not....really annoying.

At the time, my user nick was 'CaptainKubla7', I recall. Its now 'RCAF_FB_Orville' though (my IL2 squadron nick) for Steam, after I installed 'Cliffs of Disappointment'.

Aye, might do Mace.....Though I'd need to reinstall NTW and get some practice in. I still think I have Empire installed on my other account, haven't played it for Donkeys though. They are the kind of things you need to devote some time too, and I've been trying to get proficient (and failing miserably thus far) at Falcon BMS 4.32 in spare time....which is like having a second job in itself lol.

Might do though, I'll PM yer if so....and let you know. I'm not much cop at it though I must say, but God loves a trier.

EDIT: Aye, I've still got Empire modded with 'Darth Mod Ultimate Commander' installed....Think its the last Darthmod version but I'd have to check. I often uninstall things when I'm not using them to save space....but its there.

Yeah, I bought the retail ETW special forces edition too and was annoyed at it downloading but wanted the nice packaging

We just played for fun too and I'm always trying different 'strategies' to see if they work and they usually don't! I'm the type of general that in real life my men would refuse to fight for me after the twelfth time I made them all charge the cannons from a different direction "Honest, it will work this time, men" whilst dancing the macarena

Reet Mace, its 'CaptainKubla', I've just sent a friend request thing and I've found you. I don't bother with the Steam friends thing at all normally, you're my first one lol. Will be handy I suppose to sort a game out one day hopefully. I generally hate Steam tbh, and disable all the 'friends' and community interaction features etc.

EDIT: Mace, do you know if Steam would let me merge the two accounts I have if I asked them? I only had the first because of the Empire release debacle, then opened a new one when CoD was released. Its a PITA remembering both names/passwords etc, I'd rather have everything together.

Yep you're added. I normally have me set to offline from when my son used to play CS with some friends he added and when I came on they would hassle me with messages thinking it was my son on.

Not sure about the account merge though but I'm guessing not unless it's something Steam support can do. I use Steam daily and find it so helpful.

Champion Mace, I was behind at DMUC v1.05.0 Build 1332.21992.

After install, should it then read v.7.0, with the Build the same?

EDIT: Its ok, thats just the Empire version. I looked at the DMUC installer and I'm at v7.0 already, its up to date. Long time since I've played it.
