No, debt is NOT good. Commerce is good. You can have commerce without debt.
Perhaps commerce at the household or municipla level but do you really believe a modern day economy at national or international level can be run completely debt free?
The vast majority of small businesses get started with loans. That's debt isn't it?
Over 50% of new businesses fail within the first year too, mainly because they can't service their debt. It is entirely possible to live without debt. It takes a lot of discipline and sticking to a budget. The only payment I've had in over fifteen years is my house. I'll be paying it off over five years early when I'm done with it. I don't do credit cards (debit card only), and I only buy something when I can afford to pay for it in full.
Our national debt is dragging this country into the toilet, and many others are in the same boat. Running on huge deficits and borrowed money is going to cause a house-of-cards collapse eventually.
