Only two of them, mind.

Picked up a barely used carbon frame on ebay last month and just finished putting everything together. The wheels aren't actually new either, had them for a couple of years. I've always thought I've not ridden enough bikes to appreciate the subtleties between them, but this is instantly so much better than the alloy frame I was riding previously. It's an amazing material, smooth over rough roads and bumps but noticeably stiffer when out of the saddle and putting power through the cranks.

I tend to think most American things you see on British roads look rather vulgar and out of place. Despite the paint job, I hope this tips the balance back in the other direction...

Very nice! I can only imagine what difference I'd see with that, because I just recently went from a steel frame to an alloy frame and that was a big difference (I don't ride much, and it's just around the neighborhood).

Unfortunately, that probably applies to actual Americans as well... smile

No kidding, what, it must go at least 11 lbs. Must be rough. Have fun, no need for a cup holder with a camel back.

Cup holders will definitely have to be added before going on any proper rides.

High quality steel is actually a really good material for bike frames, much better ride quality than aluminium. The disadvantages are weight and susceptibility to corrosion. Due to the low volumes of steel frames being made these days, they also tend to be more expensive than mass-produced aluminium ones.

These things are all relative, it's probably worth about the same as a decent gaming PC.

Just had it on the scales - 8kg (17.6 lbs). Just out of interest, that's about 1/3 of the weight of my decent gaming PC. smile

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

Nice Brun, I used to have a Focus carbon bike with the Fulcrum 5 wheels and they are very stiff and excellent wheels. With a carbon frame you can really feel the speed come out when you put the power down.

Alas, I cannot do road cycling anymore due to compacting the penile nerve which used to make everything go numb. If you have never had numbness followed by severe pins and needles in your bits, then be very grateful lol.
