Folks,
Brrrrr. To be honest I kinda envy you the snow Dux. After the 2010 winter that included a white Christmas; we missed winter almost completely in 2011 and so far this year. Spring has sprung here for sure. We're having cool nights but the days are well above the seasonal average and have been so since late Feb. Today we will enjoy temps up around 83 F. / 28.3 C.
Rain is in the forecast however this photo shows what I have to deal with this morning.

I'm guessing C51 will be heading into cold weather landing in Frankfurt jet lagged and unprepared for the cold. I am continually amazed at how similar is the weather pattern between here in the south and Toronto which is north of us and roughly 1000 miles away. Quite often the weather Toronto is having seems to filter down to us withing a few days. I have Pearson airport on my desktop weather app and often the temperature, dew point and barometric pressure are similar to ours. More often than not what varies most seems to be the dew point or humidity level.
C51 is more an aficionado of FSX than BoB these days. I forgive him this fault of character since he forgives so many more in me. He seems quite adept in modding that sim especially control panels. His main interest seems to be bush planes and heavies. I understand that he flew the entire route he will actually be taking today and landed safely in Frankfurt. I can certainly understand a Canadians interest in bush planes though it might seem even more appropriate for PV1 than C51 considering where they live.
I have an interest in bush planes as well due to C51's many favorable comments plus books I've read in the past. I have also enjoyed TV programs such as "Fly Wild Alaska" and "Ice Pilots". The latter being presently shown on Monday nights here on the Weather Channel. Seeing those old DC3s and DC6s plus many other types being flown in such difficult conditions is fascinating.
Dux:
Perhaps it is little consolation however it will be far easier to hide your Easter eggs this year. Hmmmm. As long as they aren't colored and remain white that is. Conversely if you decorate them they will be far easier to find.
I will try to re-send the most recent e-mail that included a photo of the grand kids climbing a tree taken yesterday in the park near us.
