Nvidia GTX 580 1.5 gb w/latest drivers
8g ram
27in monitor @ 1920 x 1080

You would activate the console in game, look in the controls page/game...for the key to press for the console (you may need to assign a key)...then press that assigned key and type "fps START SHOW"/then press "enter"....just as you see it without the quote marks.

You've got an excellent PC and it should run CoD very well. Just a couple of tips: leave "Epilepsy Filter" and "SSAO" unchecked in the video options; the first causes strange colour artifacts and the second slows your framerates for no appreciable benefit.

Some prefer to leave "Vsynch" unchecked as well and instead enable it in the Nvidia Control Panel; either will help if you see distortion (tearing) of the canopy frame when you pan quickly.

I've played with the various settings in the Nvidia Control Panel to get the best combination of performance (fps, no-stuttering smoothness) and image quality. With your PC you should be able to dial in a healthy dose of both.

Good luck!

It's a great card, no doubt about it, but it's still subject to frame rate hits in low dogfights over terrain -- just experienced it a few minutes ago chasing a ground-hugging 110 online. Like everyone else I'm anxiously awaiting the patch! smile

Another thing to do that I don't see mentioned often, and It helped me out a lot is to disable the UBI start up logo. It decreased my stutters significantly.

Go to: C: drive/Program Apps (x86)/Steam/Steam Apps/Common/IL2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover/parts/core/GUI

Relabel the "LOGO" to something else and that will disable it.

Very interesting, I wonder how the logo is causing/doing that...but I will try this.

I really don't know. It could even be because I have a rather pithy PC and any improvement is large to me. Someone suggested it to save application start up time in the 1C forum. Someone replied that they noticed an improvement. Well I'm there baby! I can use all the improvement I can get. I tried it and was impressed. After a while I forgot about it and rechecked the integrity of the Steam folder (due to fuel cocks not working) and that reactivated the Logo. Noticing a drop in performance again I went through my graphics details and then remembered the logo. I reassigned a new name to it and the game felt as good as the first time I deactivated the logo.

Would be interesting to see what others experience regrding it. I still get stutters, but no where near what I do with it activated. I can battle it out with a group of planes no problem - no freezes or pauses.
