Congrats to you for paying off the mortgage! Wish I'd have started my plan earlier, five years left and will end up saving over $190K in interest when done. Soo many people just pay the monthly amount and it all goes to the bank.

That's because so many people get a mortgage that they can barely afford. Of course those days are mostly over.

i got about 10 more years, if the house even lasts that long................................

with mortgages, you pay off the interest first, then start paying on the amount of the loan,

mine is about $780/month, but changes because insurance when insurance rates go up every year due to people filing Hurricane damage claims.

i used my insurance once to re-do the roof like 10 years ago, maybe i should say the house is damaged from the last hurricane and knock it down and build a new one in its place like my neighbor did.

The kid ship has sailed. They're 13,10 4 and but for three miscarriages we'd be to at least six kids by now. But, we will never owe money again...ever!

kid 1 can start mowing lawns, kid 2 can sell lemonade, and kid 3 can go shopping with mom.

Yep, I kid about it but it's true - every time I got a raise/promotion my wife had to move up. We finally moved in next to the Jefferson's but they downsized a few years ago and I was able to convince her to just stay put for 8 years.
