Using the Hellcat (F6-3), on a still deck w/no winds, I'm having trouble taking off.
Right into the drink I keep going.
Full throttle, wep, full flaps, pulling back on stick....what did I forget?
Gear up right as I leave the deck...
Do I need to manually trim something else?

Are you carrying any payload?

Can you post an .ntrack?

Just a tank of gas...its one of the training missions.
I've missed the still conditions test, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
NO Dice thus far.
Moving boat/winds...no issues.
Landing...no issues.
Realistic or novice settings, I can't take off in still conditions.
So what have I missed?

PS-version 4.09m by the way-
and its in the single missions...not the training-
I just took off in the same conditions using the F4... no problem.
Just tested again...a group of (4)F-6...I was last in line.
All 4 of us went into the drink.
Now what am I seeing here? AI hungover from a late night?

Some of the "training" missions are buggered up offering near impossible takeoff conditions using Escort Carriers where Fleet Carriers should be used. Also some recent FM changes have made the takeoff distance a little too long... some sort of 4.11 follow on patch should resolve that.

So, is it safe to say that they 'cut' the horse power on certain planes..?
Or perhaps, across the board..IE- all the planes performance ratings have been culled back a bit?
Was the original 1946 dvd using the same performance specs that 408 or 409 uses?

Here are my suggestions based on viewing your track. Lock your tail wheel before you drop chocks. Second, don't pull full back, you'll lose what little air speed you have and fall. Instead, try to keep level or apply slight back pressure. I don't know if it will impact you at all or not with some of the changes they made in 4.11, but try also having your radiator closed (that little bit of drag may have an impact, although I doubt it). I'd give it a try, but I don't fly 4.11 (I'm still flying 4.09 with UP 2.01)

Real carriers used catapults, except for some of the larger, older flattops. Modpacks enable catapults, but so far none are compatible with 4.11. Hopefully soon. In the meantime, reduce your fuel load to 25%.

+1 on pulling the stick back.
Full throttle, full flaps, let chocks go and give the stick a little forward pressure to get the tail up.
Once clear of the desk raise gear immediately.

I hadn't considered the slight forward pressure. Sounds like that could do the trick..
that and reducing fuel amounts.
I'll give it a go.
Thanks for chiming in-
Ed

PS-
Lowering the fuel to 75% and just that little bit of forward stick as I roll towards the bow did the trick.
