After years of silence they come back saying their releasing a MP only game that they want you to pay for in hopes that they MIGHT be able to release some SP content down the road.... rolleyes yeah, I'll pass. America's Army is FREE and pretty much accomplishes the same thing. I'll stick with ARMA II thanks.

I think there's much that could be done to better America's Army.

Now remember, in a kickstarter project you don't pay much for a game, the norm is generally 10-15 bucks.

I'm not too excited about the MP only aspect, because I've lived through seeing countless games appear as "the next tactical shooter" only to ship as a different version of Counter Strike, which serves to nothing. Global Operations or Team Factor, anyone?

But I know these guys are really only looking at MP as a stepping stone.

No. We have 2 distinct sections of the game designed. MP and SP. The Kickstarter is for an MP experience. That is what you are paying for. Once that is done and shipped then we will look at building an SP experience and selling that. If a certain amount of money over our Kickstarter goal is achieved then we will make it all at once.

Minimum amount to get the game on KS is $15. If we build just the MP portion then it will most likely sell for $25 once it's done. SP would then be developed and sold. But if you bought the MP then there would be a good discount for you.

Have fun with America's Army, not much else I can say. Maybe I'll see you once the game is done and shipped, if not sooner at the Kickstarter.

Cheers!

Kickstarter video is complete. It is currently being resized for the KS website.

"Like the men the game is based on, Ground Branch has snuck in under the radar. In quiet development for several years, Sonedecker and his team of industry veterans and real life military badasses have been putting together a gaming experience like no other. Promising to restore ‘tactical realism’ to the first person shooter genre, Ground Branch will bring back gameplay that rewards the intelligent and courageous operative, and punishes those simply answering the call of duty". grrr

I love that! wave2
