Longtime readers of SimHQ will remember Jorgen "Troll" Toll. See if this sounds familiar: He became so busy with work and life that he had to take a break from his flight simming hobby for a while. Proof he has been a flight simmer is his SimHQ membership number... 7! Fortunately, Jorgen has found some time to provide us with a review of the recently released Aerofly FS.

Read Jorgen's review here: http://simhq.com/_air14/air_516a.html

Good to see you back in the forums again buddy! thumbsup

For some reason it looks more..spartan..than MS Flight to me. Or maybe even worse, given the fact that they want 50 bucks for it. At least Flight is free. It sure looks beautiful, though.

CA_Stary,
That comment comes from one who treats single engine flight as an emergency..! Flying without engines means I'm having a very bad day at work, and I'd rather not think about that... ;-)

Yes. Fully modelled smile

Flying gliders is a joy in this sim. Feels as good as Condor, and it looks a lot nicer, although it's true that Condor is still the standard to beat if you want to fly pre-set courses and competitions.
The Discus feels great at the controls. If anything the adverse yaw feels a bit weak, but then again, I only have real experience on the ASK-21 and the good old K-13, so it's probably modelled right.

The only little thing I do miss is being able to reset the altimer to zero for local soaring. Not a major thing anyway as it's something you probably shouldn't do when flying in the Alps wink
If you are old enough to remember Flight Unlimited, you'll love it.

IMHO, I would say the Flight Unlimited was much better. Aerofly FS is to me just an eyecandy toy without joy. Something like Google Earth simulator flown inside a big RC model. I am quite disappointed and regret my 50 bucks thrown away.
