Hi all,am running SF2 and have updated to latest patch.I have tried to create anti-ship missions but most ships don't seem to suffer any damage .Does anyone know why not and how to fix it ??

Yes, they now require a collision.lod in order to be SF2 compliant. This was done in order to make aircraft carriers "destroyable".

where can I get a collision.lod and can I just add it to existing ships ?

You copy one of the the ship model's lods, rename it "shipname"_COL.lod, and add the pertinent line to the ship's data ini file.

For example, say you have a 3rd party Grisha-class corvette. You would copy one of it's lod files (usually the lowest poly one), rename it Grisha_COL.lod, and then in the Grisha_Data.ini, you perform the following edits (examples in bold type):

[GroundObjectData]
DamagedModel=
DestroyedModel=
DestroyedEffect=ShipDestroyedEffect
DamageEffect=ShipFireEffect
SystemDamageEffect=ShipSystemFireEffect
CollisionMesh=Grisha_COL.LOD
SinkTime=60.0
EmptyMass=6000000.0

Save your edits, and you should be good to go.

Hi

I'll just keep on this thread, but i have the opposite issue. I have a SFP1 arcraft carrier i converted to SF2, but the ship sinks after lauching rockets (let's say the whole loadout of a soviet rocket launcher). Isn't it too easy? Do you know how to make the ship stronger?
