So I got my shiny new computer with an upgraded graphics card (radion hd 6950' ) and power supply, horas warthog and tm mfd set up. I'll have my tracker ir set up soon. Just beginning to get oriented in the cockpit...but when I try instant action my cannon and aim 9 missiles fire randomly and intermittently until ammo is spent, and the trigger will not fire the guns . I've looked all over the forums, any ideas for this poor noobie?

Go into Options and to the control assignments - make sure you are on the cockpit controls and not a View Axis view...

Are you on v1.1.1.1? <- that is the latest.

Check the assignments to the Trigger 2nd position for the cannon, and to the Fire (?) button for the missiles. Maybe change them andsee what happens. You can always reset.

Reset may be a good idea, too. Here's a link -

Thanks for the incredibly prompt replies!!....yes, the first step is often the hardest...I will attempt a download. Back in my old days I remember actually learning some DOS programming stuff in order to get falcon 3 running on my first pc....yes, I am a dinosaur...was hoping the combo of dcs a10 and the warthog setup would truly be idiot proof. Alas, it is not to be. I will persevere!

Problem solved. Took a step back, figured it had to be something mechanical in the joystick itself, sure enough the screw down collar was loose!Not exactly an illustrious introductory post!

With my HOTAS I also noticed a few things about the calibration that I needed to change for it to work the way I expected it to so you may just want to be proactive about going through the calibration from the OS side of things.

Also, take a browse through the late night thread to see some other good pointers about how to switch your trim settings to the top switch and get cracking on the multiplayer side of things!
