NOW this is FAST!! PErhaps I shall save my pennies.. well at 230,000 IOPS 4K write speed this is hands down just fast.. Expensive but Fast..I wonder will that PCIe x4 slot fit in my PCIx16 slot #3.. It does say in my manual that x16 slot is compatible with PCIex4 devices.. but would that little slot fit in the big one?? I may just save for this drive.. or how about this a little cheaper but still fast: 2nd Fastest

Just a consideration:
Those super fast drives are RAID 0. Apparently, 2 or 4 chips to which the data is "distributed". If only one chip path (circuits plus memory) fails, it all fails. So, the chance of failure is virtually doubled or quadrupled -- that partly shows up in the mean time between failure (MTBF) spec. BTW, those 2,000,000 and 1,000,000 hour MTBF numbers are an unrealistic calculation -- realistically, more like several 10,000 hrs (more or less), I'm guessing.
Anyhow, just something to consider. If going that route, one should be sure to get a good/long warranty from a reputable manufacturer.

The RevoDrive is RAID 0?? I did NOT know that.. OCZ is a reputable dealer I will check there warranty I think it is at least 3 years.. It would still be FAST Not too concerned with it failing..I have Faith.. Also while I was reading those reviews my Barraccuda had a 4.8% failure rate and they are still working NP's.. If I get a bad one Hopefully they honor their Warranty I get a new one.. I have my HDD Drives as a backup I can keep this one with the OS on it as a backup for such a case and use my other HDD for Storage of Drivers, Patches and stuff.. EDIT: I think Ill go with this instead those other Drives have issues especially if using as a Boot Drive.. Crucial M4

I notice the Crucial has a Marvell controller (not SandForce). Don't know anything about that controller (there's a lot I don't know -- so that doesn't mean its bad ). Anyhow, pretty much all of your picks have looked very good to me (fast, SandForce, brand name, mostly 240GB, reasonable cost). Just a matter of speed vs. cost/risk on the hyper fast PCIe SSD. But, even they look interesting -- nothing is significantly faster, apparently. As you indicate, the odds are in your favor with any of them. I'm looking forward to reading your observations after using the one you pick

EDIT: I think Ill go with this instead those other Drives have issues especially if using as a Boot Drive.. Crucial M4 I notice the Crucial has a Marvell controller (not SandForce). Don't know anything about that controller (there's a lot I don't know -- so that doesn't mean its bad ). Don't know much about any chips specifically, just things one reads. Oh, the older RealSSD C300 has been "chugging" along since September 2010 on my system. The Marvell didn't need a firmware upgrade to cure BSODs where Sandforce did, but did receive a firmware 009 for a big performance boost. Here is a good price for the M4, saving another 25$: http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?...mp;tab=descriptOr the M4 with transfer-kit, still 10$ less than NewEgg: http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?...mp;tab=descript The Samsung 830 as top performer* for 348$: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?p=MZ...pb%2FUdemAffDSyOne thing that is in favour of Samsung; they have been in the SSD business the longest and make 99% of the chips themselves. *Bang-for-buck, if you check the "Performance per gigabyte per dollar" chart.

On the game computer, I've got the Crucial M4 58GB as my C drive and the 120GB as the D drive. Couldn't be happier with them. The page file is on the nose of the D drive and 9 sims are on the D drive. Forgot. I didn't do the promised video yet.

I just use 4x 500 GB drives in Raid 5 (Block striping plus parity)

I have a Crucial M4 128 GB as boot-Drive for nearly a year now, no problems so far. My first SSD (a 64 GB SuperTalent) did the infamous "not recognized at start-up thingy" within 8 weeks after buying it.
I then had to learn the hard way, that most back-up solutions don`t get the alignement right, even if they claim so.
Finally bit the bullet an re-installed the system from scratch.
