Gorgeous screen Uther! Racing sims are seriously where the best graphics are at. Now they just need Kovalainen's Angry Birds helmet! haha

I also, at first thought it was screens from IL-2 1946 and I almost didn't dare to post my opinion, some of the worst fanatics over there would've buried me in insults and how wrong it is of me to express my own opinion. rolleyes Other than that it was a good update and my patch release sense is starting to "tingle". biggrin

Wow. I've been out of racing sims for quite some time. What game is that?

From browsing the other parts of this forum, I think it's "project C.A.R.S.", or pCARS.

I agree the winter shots of the IL-2 looked very similar to IL-2 1946 as it also wasn't a bad sim. The new game engine when finished should just make everything that was in the original IL-2 more detailed along with new features that were not possible before. Hopefully the performance patch will make it possible to implement DX11 in the near future, which should make everything stand out more.

I feel like Chris Economaki reporting track side. Damn that's beautiful. The last racing sim I installed was GTR 2, and I thought that looked smashing.

AA, AF, DX11, all require system resources. I don't remember the developer say they won't be able to add AA, AF, DX11, at some point. I would assume the performance rewrite could provide the performance headroom to allow those with good enough systems to enable the appropriate levels of AA, AF, etc. I have no idea when this will happen but it will happen at some point if the development goes the same way as the previous series. I remember continually upgrading my system to use latest features, with the best possible frame rate. DX11 will be implemented, either when peoples average systems can run it, or the sims is optimized enough to enable it.

Chivas, ive said this before, Luthier has NEVER once mentioned adding FSAA, in fact hes NEVER spoken about FSAA or DX11 since before the release.

I wouldn't bring it up either, if I was Luthier, until I new for sure that the performance patch allowed enough headroom to implement AA, and DX11. Even then I don't know how much extra work they would need to add and test DX11 after the performance/graphic rewrite.

So far as AA is concerned I think that it is basically unacceptable that a modern game can be released without it. No excuses, no BS about how much more sophisticated this game is etc etc- other games including sims can do it, just not this one !!.

And by the looks of the BoM screens they still haven't got it sorted out. Don't tell me, 'screens from the old engine'..erm...'no AA for testing purposes'....errrm...'the Pixies stole it'

Could one of you lucky Banana Forums members kindly share the BoM preview pics with us less privileged, so we can see what all the fuss is about and get a chance to sneer at them too biggrin ?

That would be much appreciated, whatever those pics are actually worth.

Cheers

Nico

LOL! Now when I look at them again I'm actually convinced those are IL-2 1946 shots. It's still WIP so wouldn't worry too much plus stills doesn't do this game any justice, lightning and other environmental effects in CloD is much more impressive when in video or real time.

I really wasn't asking for so much, but you have my many thanks for taking the time.

They do look a lot like Il-2, but maybe the barren snow-covered landscape is to be blamed here. A snow blanket will look like a snow blanket whatever the resolution... Still the same old clouds and buildings though...

Cheers

I am really hoping that when the new graphics patch comes out in makes the AA work. Right now the jaggies are the biggest turnoff for me in the graphics department.

Once we get some AA, and an increase in fps this sim will be sitting pretty for me flying online smile
