I'm very surprised that MS has kept that page up actually..

They certainly don't respond to anyone there either, here you have a perfect opportunity to see what people think, what they want (planes with Cockpits, Track-Ir) and try to explain what you want this title to be about, many of the folks on there are FS users who are completely baffled by the tack MS has taken and are asking for the very same things that are being commented on in a dozen forums, but this is not reflected in sales they say and I'm sure that there are somewhere around 10-15,000 people who have bought into the game expecting more than what they got, who state they will not be buying anymore till they have some of the features they expected in the first place and I figure that many of them paid the $20 bucks for the rest of the islands and the RV-6 so MS made a quick buck and now they think that equals success. But it will likely be short lived unless they bring something else to the table, even if it was only Track-Ir support they would see an upswing in sales guaranteed. If they had VC in all the planes it would make all the difference to many who are giving it the thumbs down, after all the cheapest plane in Rise of Flight has highly detailed cockpits and might be as little as $3.00, all the planes that they have now vary widely in detail but even at $5.00 they are not worth the purchase.

Yeah unfortunately because they don't release sales figures, they can pretty much go on stating that the 15,000 unhappy hardcore simmers are a drop in the bucket compared to the zillions of apparent gamers who supposedly love Flight, buy cockpitless aircraft and just somehow treat Flight like an XBOX game and never post anywhere about it. That's how marketing works at least until they have a chance to roll out the first 6-12 months or more of products they've been working on and whose budget was already planned.

The only signs we can tell of the non-vocal population is online participation and I was on last night and didn't notice any zeroes or p51s flying around but I wasn't checking much since I was busy flying (it was nice to see another guy using ATC radio calls once I started doing it).

For now we just have to let them do their thing and wait and see if it pans out or if they adjust if it doesn't, eventually they will have to quit being able to rely on marketing ("downloads exceeded our expectations") as income for long term budget.

As far as the value of the aircraft in Flight, I think even in FSX terms the value has been good to me. Of my favorite 3 - the Stearman was free, the RV6 was part of the Hawaii package and all that scenery and a decent aircraft for $20 is a good deal, the Maule was the toughest sell for me at $15, but I picked it up since I wanted to try the cargo missions and it turns out to be my favorite Flight airplane, with a great panel and FME and perfect for low slow sightseeing with that high wing and STOL off airport landing capability. The cockpitless airplanes are worthless, even if they were $1 I wouldn't buy them.

I fly the Maule most of the time and really like it, I actually wish I could port it to FSX! The main problem with airplanes in Flight is no GPS or Autopilot but that is a problem with the Flight engine not the planes, hopefully they overcome that someday.

My guess is many bought the zero thinking that it was a real add-on, not a bait and switch AI-plane. I'll bet the next pathetic, shameless attempt at releasing an un-finished product, will meet with a more keen audience.

I don't understand the entire thing, if they would have released FSX with Flights graphics and performance I think it would have sold very well, I would have bought it! I am not paying a dime for this crap they fed us, $20 for a island and $15 for the first plane? By the time you got the same amount of content as FSX it would cost you $500!

Problem is it would have cost more to develop a real sim, and left preciouis DLC money on the table.
