However, the reviews are already coming in and there seems to be almost unanimous praise for it. I confess I have not read the books (should I?). Is this really worth it? I hope they haven't "twilighted" the relationships as the relationships provide one of the most interesting insights into the main protagonist's character (and it ain't all pretty). If they tried to make her have a straight romance (with either main male character, or a stupid Jacob/Edward type deal) they'll have inevitably compromised an essential insight into who Katniss is. Given how much money the Twilight series has made, I'm a little afraid that the incentive to "make a few minor tweaks" and cutessify the relationships will win out... we'll see.
