Probably because it's basically all stuff he's already said before. "We're sorry and we're working on it."

Sure, this will calm the forums down for a couple days, but I really don't understand the need for a constant reminder of issues long been spoken about by the developer. I for one don't need to be held by the hand every week. I'd rather see something new, stuff about the sequel etc., than the same old stuff rehashed over and over again. I believed him the 1st time they said they were working on it. I still believe them the 2nd time they said they are still working on it. I'll believe them the 3rd, 4th, and 5th times as well.

My question is, why don't others believe him unless he posts every week saying the same thing?

I was both surprised and happy to see his name as the author for this weeks run down. Its been a long time since he communicated directly to us over there. I think it proves that his confidence level has indeed grown, and we will benefit very soon hopefully.

Bliss, maybe because words are cheap, so far Luthiers record on coming up with the goods isn't great. In 12 months the only real progress has been the sound update and that still has plenty of bugs.
We have had plenty of "almost here" "its fixed" "released very soon" "working in next driver release" in the last year and ive lost trust and patience with Luthier, so i will believe the hype when its downloaded and working on my system.
Im very happy you are happy. Ive never told anyone they shouldn't be happy with CLOD if that's how they feel, i dont tell anyone how to feel about CLOD, i only say how i feel, and so far CLOD is disappointing for me. Sure you can muck about on ATAG and have a fine time sometimes, ive always praised ATAG for the server, its the best thing to do with CLOD right now, but until sqds get involved and we get online wars its a bust for me.

Maybe im too cynical but we still only have "were working on it" working on what? all we know is were getting a graphics rewrite patch that improves FPS, that's it. No news on other fixes for CLOD and we need plenty.

So i dont need my hand to be held, i need to see the goods not words.

A quote from Luthier... "We cannot wait to prove our detractors wrong, crush the competition, and give our fans what they are looking for with our next major release!

I would rather he said they cant wait to prove, crush etc with making CLOD what it should of been at release.

If and when it that happens il join in the rest in jumping for joy and calling Luthier a new god but not until.

like i say maybe im just a cynical old goat smile

@ frog. Will I take a bet on two weeks?! Heart says yes, head says no. As long as its 'right' when it comes out that's right by me. By my reckoning if we're getting 2x gfx performance that's great. If it scales well with SLI then I could get 3 to 4x even.
Yes I am the eternal optimist, but for me that kind of increase means the chance to put a lot more planes in the air without crippling performance. A better chance to simulate the Battle of Britain that we imagined as children.

I'll get my resume/cv sent off forth-with, sounds great fun - hope the pay is bad too.. smile

Patch in two weeks, for sure - any takers?

Ah, yes. Geeks wanted: long hours, low pay, high risk, slim chance of monetary returns.
Makes me wish I was young again...

In my opinion any information from anyone other than the lead developer is at best optomistic and at worst smoke and mirrors. Im happy now that Luthier has said its still in development and that the bailiffs arent banging on the door. I now hope to see the game that I paid for.

Nothing other than a full re-write of the code was going to sort out this mess and I for one am glad that it has happened this way. This way at least we will not get a rehashed collectic mix of good and bad code that will never fully work but should get a fully operating tested Combat simulation.

There is nothing wrong with staying loyal to a simulation in the face of heavy criticism but its another thing blindy following along no matter how bad a state it is in. My enthusiasm for this instalment dissappeared over the last 12 months along with 99% of our Sqn. Im sure that the next instalment or "fixed" version of CloD will pleasantly surprise us and get us right back in the cockpit.

Its good news indeed. Waiting now patiently for release!

Seems to me they got an advance from the publisher to finish BoM. They are stringing along the CloD fans until BoM is finished. Knowing that if BoM is better CloD fans will forget all about CloD and buy BoM in their excitement and desperation to fly a WW2 sim. It will work too. Just not on me.
