in case anyone is wondering, this is what i get on my 7950 (not OC'd).
1080p, No FSAA, No Vsync, Tesselation OFF:
FPS: 95.9 Scores: 2415 Min FPS: 35.4 Max FPS: 151.4
With Tesselation ON: FPS: 72.0 Scores: 1815 Min FPS: 8.8 <<<<<<<<<<-- This happens in the same spot, when the camera goes into a lighted hallway with barrels, Before that Min was 30.9. Max FPS: 146.1

As expected, good numbers for HD7950 -- all one needs actually. As you mention, 60FPS is the practical max with the vast majority of LCD monitors. The really slow games seem CPU limited -- thus, all the GPUs give roughly similar numbers. Heck, I got good single monitor numbers with HD7750 in Skyrim -- and 58FPS in CINEBench OpenGL. Now, we need the game companies to "up their games" -- which they may not do until the new consoles are released in 2013 or 2014.

Now, we need the game companies to "up their games" -- which they may not do until the new consoles are released in 2013 or 2014. i was trying to run Cine Bench, but the reference Render Fails, almost the entire Render is Red Pixels (low 80%). at default Card settings, only thing that has changed where Cat 12.2 Preview -> 12.3 Official, which also Borked FSAA on my Brother 6870.

I checked prices on the egg and they are dropped down pretty good on the 500 series cards. 560Ti going for 199.
