One of the campaigns I have been flying recently is a neat old mini-campaign. ME-109 Over The Jura by GastonImo, it is best to fly it using the None (NN) country now because if you use everything in the download it will overwrite the current speech pack and menu music for the current French (FR) campaigns. I am flying it using v4.11m and so far everything has worked in the None (NN) folder. Just make sure to change the menu music filename to "nn" from "fr" so it plays when you run the campaign in the NN folder. I was a little bit surprised when the 2nd group leader flew across my path. Luckily I did not shoot him down. Wheels

Nice shots Wheels, lots of airplanes in the same small piece of sky! My wingman is out of frame and just behind me but there was definitely one plane I wasn't expecting in that little piece of sky. Shortly after those shots I ended up getting tagged by the rear gunner on the left bomber too. Wheels

Wheels Heheh sounds like fun, I really have to work on getting IL2 to run in Windows7 again, tried reinstalling a while back but it always exists after the CD check and splashpage even after I did that Securom update thing... Oh well, for now some more airplane shots: 1. Ant's Eaglet takeoff from Dillingham field to Wheeler field in MegaSceneryX Oahu, REX2, FSGen mesh 2. Carenado 337 on the road to Hana in Maui VFR X, REX2, FSGen mesh

Cool shots kludger. The digital download version of IL-2 1946 at GoG seems to work just fine with Win7. IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 at GoG: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946This version does not have any DRM to mess it up. GOG "About Us" page: http://www.gog.com/en/about3. You buy it, you keep it.
Don't let your DRMs turn into nightmares (clever, no?). You won't find any intrusive copy protection in our games; we hate draconian DRM schemes just as much as you do, so at GOG.com you don't just buy the game, you actually own it. Once you download a game, you can install it on any PC and re-download it whenever you want, as many times as you need, and you can play it without an internet connection. Wheels

Ah thanks good reminder of the GOG version, if I can't solve the problem with my disk version that will definitely be the route to go.
Flying around in the excellent A2A P-40 Warhawk in FSX has rekindled my interest in IL-2 so I can shoot stuff with it.
UPDATE: I figured out my problem, when I did the last IL2-1946 patch dance I missed the 4.08 patch, I just did a fresh install and patch dance and things are working, woohoo! hope to get some IL2 battle screenies soon.
Edited by kludger (03/23/12 04:17 PM) Edit Reason: fixed my IL2 prob
