While fiddling around with various AI settings I had an... interesting encounter with a Hurricane over the Channel.

After a bit of fun dogfighting I briefly stalled my X-Wing 109 and when I spotted the Imperial Tommy again he came directly at me, guns blazing!

I opened up with cannons and MGs but didn't get hits on him while we raced directly at each other.

An instant before the inevitable impact a sudden thought flashed through my mind: "Did I set full energy to frontal deflector shields?!"

Then all I saw was a blinding flash of light.

And the Hurricane was gone.

A closer inspection of my 109 showed that she had sustained some minor body damage. Nothing my onboard R2 unit couldn't fix. Relieved I set course for Alderaan, preparing for light jump.

Back at base I'll have stern talk with my wookie mechanic though. He really needs to reinforce the engine cover, it always comes off when I ram stuff. And I won't take his "I've misplaced my hydrospanner..." excuse this time.

No, if he was right it wouldn't have come off at all, as he was belly aching that the clips weren't modelled!
Do you remember he stated that the ground crew would not be able to do maintainance or something.. lol!

Yeah, I remember us having some fun (I hope he did as well, but I have my doubts), in that if there were no engine clips then the little men wouldn't be able to fix the engine, so it's basically game over without them. One of those conversation where the rabbit hole never seemed to end.. lol

Wasn't it the last patch that introduced female partisans that would sneak onto Luftwaffe airfields at night and sabotage the cowling latches?
