Good games. The AI in the original FEAR was pretty good, so it would be nice if the AI programmer was from that team.

GR2? Was that a console game? Never heard of it.

Yes, GR2 and whatever expansions following "GR2" were console-only games. It was a 3rd person game, and I understand it did well enough to keep GR going even though the design was never repeated.
The next "GR3" became GRAW and returned to the PC as well as consoles.
While not what I would call true "GR", GRAW 1 and 2 were fun in their own way.

I don't care how this new sim will look like. I couldn't care less if the weapons will look and/or sound realistic. But, please, good sir, promise us you'll pay attention to the AI programming. AIs that will go where we tell them to, do things we want them to do, in a manner that really reflects the word "intelligence". I'm sick of feeling like I need to make an appointment with a psychiatrist everytime after playing most of my tac shooters..

I'm watching this one with great interest.

Another Fighter Ops or Ground Branch project?

If they get the funding, probably not. If they don't make $200,000 everything gets their money back. I guess they can try again, though they probably won't.

Can't see it reaching the goal though I hope I'm worng. I think having HALO poster behind him when trying to sell us a hardcore tactical shooter seems odd.

Also people who want a hardcore shooter are getting let down to often and have little faith or trust when a developer says those words.

The "Hardcore tactical shooter" now has a project name (though this is not the final title) and a new video and some info was put up as well as artwork on their Kickstarter page.

Aside from Ground Branch, this seems to be the only spiritual successor to SWAT 4/Raven Shield in the works. If you liked those games you might want to look into the project and perhaps donate some to help reach the $200,000 goal. If they don't make their goal you get your money back.

Going from the forums, Serellan seems like a nice person who really wants to see another true PC based tactical shooter (not those GRAW/Vegas type games) made. I'm going to pitch in $15 in a little bit as it gets me the full game (assuming they get the $200,000). Raven Shield is great, but it is a bit dated, and SWAT 4 always crashes on all of the computers I ever tried it on. A newer alternative to those games is just what I am looking for.

I do agree, many developers say they will make a tactical shooter and turn out something like Rainbow 6 Vegas. Though he has stated a few times that while he liked working on GRAW, he does not want to make another game like it. He doesn't want those sci-fi or mainstream game elements to water down this title.

They've barely cleared the 1/3 mark. There's less than a week to go and not even 50% reached, so I'm not optimistic.
