Well said, Ajay. I heartily agree with you.

Overall, I'd say that the AI system has the potential to be much more realistic. However, I too, am very disturbed by the rolling - at least when the evasive maneuver is being done by a Shorts Sunderland...

...really, really, disturbing.

There is no doubt BOB WOV AI improved a considerable ammount over the years with Buddye's help. The AI still had enough warts to make me quit WOV and go back to IL-2 and online flying. The AI is one of the most difficult features to get right and it probably won't be totally right in any flight sim until computers become alot more powerful. There is no doubt that COD's AI is crap, but its far from finished, and should greatly improve, which shouldn't be that hard considering where its at now. wink Buddye would certainly be helpful, but isn't he still working on the AI in BOB WOV for their next patch.

The AI programmers for IL2:CoD worked on the AI for the classic Nintendo game Starfox!

That's actually my response to the AI in CoD. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Im sure we will see some big improvements in the AI soon, they hired a new AI guy and he had that big "Help with AI" thread plus 9 months, so we should see what progress he has made.

Edit. Just checked we have had no AI changes since June last year so that's 9 months of work.

I have a mission with among other things a single AI bomber is to land. A couple of weeks ago I got a uncontrollable urge to strafe it after it was on the ground. Wouldn't you know they didn't like that, and they took off again to come get me...that was the final push to go mp

LOL. I was messing with the radio commands, and accidentally found one that works. On the way to the mission my whole flight decided it was returning to base. I have no idea what I pressed... smile

Yeah, I remember that announcement. I just have no idea what happened ever since.

The most probable explanation is the major graphic/performance patch. There is no point in adding any new AI, Commands, FM, improvements until the performance patch is done. Then they can add any improved features to a faster, stable more or less bug free platform. Adding them now would only make the bug testing, and fixing of the performance patch overly complicated. Such as "are the lastest bugs caused by the performance code, AI, FM, DM, or Command changes".
