Most of Bay's movies have made tons of money so hence his clout with getting to pick and choose the projects he wants.

Anyway, I'm not a comic book fan (grew out of those when I was about 15) but it surprises me how much fandom is still around for the TMNT. I thought the craze over them died in the early 90's!
